The following information was supplied by the Concord Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • Jonathan Devereaux, 22, of Concord, was arrested at 5:36 p.m. on July 2, on a robbery; unarmed felony charge. The charge stems from an alleged incident at Hannaford on Fort Eddy Road on June 3. Police allege Devereaux stole $10.99 worth of meat. A tipster advised that Devereaux was at a home on South State Street and police went there to arrest him. His parole officer placed a 72-hour hold on him and he declined bail services. He was arraigned remotely on July 3.
  • Valerie E. Fredette, 29, of Loudon, was arrested at 9:29 p.m. on July 2, on a simple assault (personal weapons) charge. Officers were called to an apartment on North State Street for an assault call where a female aggressor had just left the scene. Officers took a description of the woman who had reportedly left in a Volkswagen. The man told officers that the woman, Fredette, was a friend and co-worker. He alleged that Fredette showed up at his apartment “speaking crazy stuff,” about the two being in love and that they were going to get married. She allegedly hit him in the face and chest, knocked a candle off a mantle, and threw it at his head. The officer observed the injuries on the man’s throat and chest. A female witness who was also at the scene told officers a similar story about what happened. An officer later left a message for Fredette on her cellphone and she reportedly returned the call about 15 minutes later. The officer alleged that Fredette was crying and upset, but refused to come into the stationhouse for fear of being arrested. Fredette alleged that the woman at the apartment pushed and choked her. About 20 minutes later, Fredette came into the police station and spoke with the officer. The officer later noted that Fredette did not appear to be injured in any way, and was later arrested, based on the allegations made by the victim and the witness. Later, she was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Aug. 5.

  • Kevin W. Jenkins, 55, of Concord, was arrested at 9:58 p.m. on July 8, on a possession of controlled drugs charge. An officer was called to North State Street for a report of a suspicious person, with a bike hidden in a bush, sitting on a sidewalk for more than 30 minutes. The officer came across the man and requested his name but he didn’t answer. “He kept his head down looking at the sidewalk,” the officer stated. The man began to mumble after several attempts to speak with him, the officer alleged. The man, later identified as Jenkins, had “heavy slurred speech and bloodshot glassy eyes,” and while attempting to stand up, reportedly fell over. When he pulled out his ID, a plastic bag allegedly believed to be marijuana fell out of his pocket. Jenkins was then arrested. A pipe was later allegedly found in his shorts pocket. Jenkins refused bail and was arraigned on July 9.
  • Daniel P. Sajko, 26, of Concord, was arrested at 11:56 p.m. on July 8, and charged with criminal mischief (vandalism), reckless conduct; place another in danger, and default or breach of bail conditions. Officers were called to an apartment on Matthew Street for a warrant service for Sajko, who allegedly was involved in an incident at the home earlier in the day. According to a court affidavit, the officer arrived at the building and saw a parked Chevrolet Cobalt with the windshield that was “almost completely smashed in” with “blood on the passenger seat” and the center console. The officer spoke to Sajko’s father. The father stated that his son was arrested on a driving charge earlier in the morning and he went to retrieved his car from a collision business where it was towed. While getting his car, the son called asking for $40 to pay back his friends who bailed him out. The father refused and alleged that his son told him, “It’ll be WW3 when you come home.” When the father got home, he alleged that Sajko was throwing things around, ransacking the apartment. The father returned to his car to call police. Sajko then allegedly ran up the hood of the car and began stomping on the windshield until it broke. When it broke, the windshield shattered, cutting the father, who then got out of the car and began walking from the scene, with his son allegedly taunting him to call police, which he did. The father did not know where his son was and the officer searched the home but couldn’t find him. They thought he might be hiding in a crawlspace but later, officers found Sajko hiding in a bedroom of the home. Sajko was arrested, refused bail, and was arraigned on July 9.

It was the second time the officer was called to the scene on the same shift. On a picnic table next to Standley was can of Budweiser, his keys, and an old pill bottle. While talking with officers, Standley was reportedly crying and upset. One of the officers inquired as to what was in the bottle and Standley allegedly said his medicine. The car passed the officer on the opposite side of the road and the officer began to follow the car. While approaching East Side Drive, the officer reportedly clocked the car doing 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. At one point, the officer alleged, the Nissan began tailgating a pickup truck and later, “broke heavy to avoid rear-ending the pickup.” The officer activated emergency lights but the car reportedly wouldn’t pull over. Eventually, it pulled over at Hazen Drive. The woman, Dionne, allegedly “fumbled through the glove box” looking for her paperwork and “struggled” to get her license out of the wallet. When asked where she was coming from, Dionne reportedly said a friend’s in “Ch-Chester” twice. The officer allegedly detected a faint odor of alcohol coming from inside of the car. She was later arrested. Dionne was reportedly “talkative and joking” during the process but at one point, asked about the officer’s riding boots and whether or not he rode a motorcycle, allegedly not recalling that she had been pulled over by the motorcycle.
