ARRESTS: Man Threatens to Kill His Mother

The following information was supplied by the Concord Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Editor’s Note: Due to more extensive narratives in the Concord Police arrest reports, it’s taking a little bit longer to transcribe entries and that is why the dates vary so widely.

  • Qasi Alsulaimani, 19, of Plymouth, was arrested at 4:43 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2012, on an operating without a valid license charge. According to an arrest report, an officer was traveling eastbound on Loudon Road when he reportedly observed a Volkswagen GT in the left lane with an expired registration sticker, from July 2012. The officer stopped the vehicle and Alsulaimani allegedly stated it was his brother’s vehicle and he didn’t have a registration form for the car. Alsulaimani allegedly was not in possession of his international driver’s license. He did have his passport, according to the report. According to dispatch, the vehicle registration was suspended for default of a court summons from Nov. 26, 2012, and Alsulaimani did not have an active driver’s license. He was arrested and issued a summons for the unregistered vehicle. Alsulaimani was released on $1,000 bail and was arraigned on Feb. 4.
  • Chad B. Croteau, 22, of New Boston, was arrested at 3:11 a.m. on Jan. 1, on a driving while intoxicated charge. According to an arrest report, an officer was driving on Monroe Street at 2:45 a.m. when he reportedly observed a man allegedly sleeping in car parked outside Monroe Street. running, with its lights on and music playing. The officer allegedly tapped on the driver’s side window multiple times attempting to wake the man up. Eventually, the man woke up but allegedly refused to roll his window down upon request. The officer reportedly opened up the driver’s side door, in an attempt to ID the driver, and “smelled what appeared to be an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle.” During questioning about whether or not he had been drinking, Croteau allegedly said he consumed enough, his face covered in what the officer described as “white powder.” The officer initiated a field sobriety test and alleged that Croteau “braced himself using the driver’s side door” and later “fell backwards against the read driver’s side door.” He was then arrested and later, released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail. Croteau was arraigned on Jan. 14.
  • Diana L. Lavertu, 54, of Concord, was arrested at 7:20 p.m. on Jan. 4, on a simple assault (personal weapons) charge. The charge stems from an alleged incident at 7:30 p.m. on May 1, 2012, at the Manchester Street Laudromat on Manchester Street. The alleged victim was a Concord woman who was a stranger. Lavertu was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in Sixth Circuit District Division Court on Feb. 4. According to an arrest report, an officer went to 49 Canton Circle to arrest Lavertu. She was booked and processed without incident.
  • Amber French, 17, of Andover, was arrested at 12:58 p.m. on Jan. 6, and charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, criminal threatening (intimidation, etc.), and simple assault (personal weapons). The charges stem from alleged incidents at the Washington Street School in Penacook on Sept. 21, 2012, and Sept. 25, 2012. The alleged victim in the threatening and assault charges was a student who was “otherwise known” to French. According to police, Andover Police took custody of French and transported her to Concord. She was released on $2,000 personal recognizance and is due to be arraigned in court on Feb. 11.
  • Christopher Michael Jordan, 45, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, on a felony sale of controlled drugs charge. Police allege that Jordan was involved in a MDMA sale at 2:15 p.m. on Aug. 28, on North State Street. Investigators allegedly seized 6.7 grams of the drug and was positively tested on Oct. 2, 2012. The drugs had a value of $200. An audio recording of the alleged drug deal was also submitted as evidence. An officer was dispatched to Merrimack County House of Corrections to serve an arrest warrant to Jordan who was being held on other charges. Upon being served, Jordan allegedly became angry. He was arraigned on Jan. 9.
  • Jason David Stiasny, 17, of Warner, was arrested at 3:38 p.m. on Jan. 22, on a simple assault (personal weapons) charge. Officers were called to Genesis Eldercare on Pleasant Street for a report of a domestic disturbance inside of a car. An officer was at the scene and radioed to another officer to stop a man who was reportedly involved in the incident but was now walking east on Pleasant Street. The man, later identified as Stiasny, allegedly told the officer that he was with his brother and mother at the hospital and became upset with his brother “about a story that he was telling because (the brother) tells the same story all the time and he didn’t want to hear,” according to the report. At first, the officer alleged, Stiasny said the argument was only verbal. Later though, the officer alleged that Stiasny admitted to hitting his brother “a couple of times.” After verifying similar stories with other witnesses, Stiasny was arrested. He was later released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and had a court date on Feb. 25.
  • Richard M. Lodge, 28, of Concord, was arrested at 2:14 a.m. on Feb. 1, and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, second offense, and transportation of alcohol/open container. While driving on South State Street, an officer reported that there was a vehicle behind him “catching up to me quickly” that was “straddling the double yellow line.” At the intersection of Pleasant and South State, the officer watch the 2007 GMC pickup with Tennessee plates pass take a left onto Pleasant. The officer then reportedly followed the vehicle and allegedly saw the truck take a right hand turn at Pleasant and Green streets through a red light without stopping. The vehicle allegedly continued down Green Street, allegedly driving down the middle of the street. The officer pulled the truck over which stopped about three feet from the curb. During interaction with the driver, the officer alleged that he could “smell the odor of alcohol and noticed Lodge had red eyes.” Another officer was also involved in the stop and allegedly saw an open bottle in a pouch on the back of the driver’s seat, which later reportedly was a 750 ml bottle of Balvenie Doublewood Distillery Scotch. Lodge was given field sobriety tests and later arrested. During the booking process, according to the officer, Lodge allegedly “lost his balance and fell into a wall.” Lodge also received summonses for not coming to a stop at a red light and a double yellow line violation. He was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and had a court date on Feb. 11.
  • Scot Harrison Leighton, 44, of Concord, was arrested at 8:34 p.m. on Feb. 3, and charged with simple assault (personal weapons) and criminal threatening (intimidation, etc.). Officers were called to Manor Road at around 7:45 p.m. for a domestic assault call, with a woman alleging that her sister was assaulted by her son. Upon arrival, the officers spoke to the woman who was very upset and reported that her arm was sore but she waived medical treatment. The woman alleged that Leighton left in his truck and was drunk and should not be driving. The woman alleged that she had gotten home and Leighton was allegedly drunk and belligerent. They had gotten into an argument but later, he seemed OK, and even gave her a hug. Sometime around 7:15 p.m., the two got into another argument and she stated she was going to call the police. Leighton allegedly knocked a phone to the floor and then grabbed the woman and pushed her down on a couch. Leighton allegedly threatened to strangle the woman, said he hated her, and was going to kill her. The officer reported seeing the phone on the floor, gave assistance to the woman about domestic violence issues, and took her statement. Leighton’s vehicle was located by police at the American Legion Hall on Perley Street and one of the officers went to speak with him. While speaking with Leighton, the officer alleged that he denied anything had happened and that he had helped his mother with her sick dog. He allegedly acknowledged drinking but was not intoxicated, the officer reported. During conversations with the officer, Leighton acknowledged getting into an argument with his mother but denied the violence allegations. He reportedly said he packed a bag and left the home. Leighton then allegedly became upset and said she was crazy and made everything up. The officer arrested Leighton. He was later released on $4,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on March 4.
  • Jonathan Devereaux, 22, of Concord, was arrested at 12:24 a.m. on Feb. 8, and charged with prowling and criminal trespass. An officer was called to South State Street for a report of a person in another person’s car. The witness reported that the suspect had fled northbound on South State Street. While coming home, the witness reported that someone was inside his girlfriend’s 2009 Pontiac G6. The witness described the man as in his 20s, short black hair, and wearing a zipper camo hooded sweatshirt. The witness reported chasing the man around the building and then called 911. Just prior to the call, the officer had been at a different South State Street address for a disturbance call where one of the individuals, Devereaux, was allegedly wearing a zipper camo hoodie sweatshirt. On the way to the second call, the officer saw Devereaux and spoke with him. The officer alleged that Devereaux “was breathing heavily and sweating.” Devereaux said he was coming from a friend’s house at West and South State streets. When asked why he was running, Devereaux allegedly stated that a Hispanic man confronted him near the intersection and began to yell at him and chase him, the officer reported. When told that there were witnesses who alleged seeing him inside of a car, he denied being in anyone’s car. The officer arrested Devereaux. Later, while talking to Devereaux, he allegedly admitted to having drinks earlier in the evening at The Draft, a place he was trying to get a job. The officer reported that Devereaux was out on parole and one of the conditions of the parole was not to be drinking. Devereaux refused bail and was arraigned on Feb. 8.
  • Timothy Charles Carignan, 21, of Bow, was arrested at 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 14, on a bench warrant from Hooksett District Court for failure to appear on an attempted stalking charge. While driving west on Loudon Road, an officer reportedly saw a vehicle with a “Clear 5” inspection sticker that was expired. The car was stopped near the Everett Arena. While talking with the occupants of the car, dispatch revealed that Carignan had a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear on Jan. 22. Carignan was held on $2,000 cash bail and had a court date on Feb. 15. The driver of the car was issued a summons for the inspection sticker violation.
  • John Dukette, 43, of Penacook, was arrested at 12:23 a.m. on Feb. 25, on a bench warrant. An officer was called to Sewalls Falls Road near Manor Road for a 1997 Mazda truck off the road. The truck was stuck in a snow bank on the north side of the road. A man, later identified as Dukette, was walking eastbound on the road with a plastic snow shovel. Dukette reportedly told the officer that he was on his way home from work when he slid off the road. While running a check on Dukette’s information, a bench warrant for nonpayment of a fine out of Concord District Court was found, with $435 cash to settle. Dukette reportedly said that he didn’t realize that his license was suspended after failing to pay the fine and was arrested previously, according to the officer. He had since paid the balance and claimed the warrant was an error. He was arrested and later released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail with a court date on Feb. 26.
