LOG: Manchester Man Faces Multiple Drug Charges

The following information was supplied by the Concord Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Welleh Suah, 23, of Concord, was arrested at 1:17 a.m. on March 15, on a bench warrant. Officers were sent to Jennings Drive for a harassment call. One of the people at the address, Suah, was arrested on a warrant for nonappearance in Concord District Court from July 2012, on a facilitating an underage alcohol/drug party. She had a court date on April 7.

Lori A. Marden, 27, of Concord, was arrested at 1:38 a.m. on March 15, and charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving after revocation or suspension, and driver’s license prohibitions. While driving north on North State Street by Bouton, an officer saw a Honda Civic “slowly pull forward into the intersection despite the fact it had a red light.” The car was in the middle of the intersection when the light turned green, the officer reported, and then made a “wide left hand turn entering the far right lane,” and then quickly moved left. The car was pulled over at Penacook Street. The officer alleged that the female driver “was on top of the center console and it appeared that she was attempting to climb into the passenger’s lap.” The officer ordered her back in her seat. The driver’s side window reportedly wasn’t working so the officer spoke to the driver from the passenger’s side and was “presented with an over powering odor” of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The driver, Marden, agreed to field sobriety tests and was arrested. A review of her license found that it was suspended on Jan. 3, for default court summons. She was arraigned on March 31.

Nancy Searles, 56, of Concord, was arrested at 2 a.m. on March 15, on a driving while intoxicated charge. An officer in the Friendly’s parking lot observed a Toyota Corolla stop at the intersection of Franklin and North Main streets pick up a pedestrian and then, make an illegal left hand turn heading north to Bouton. The officer followed and alleged that the car was drifting in and out of lanes. It was pulled over outside of Boutwell’s. The driver, Searles, reportedly rolled down the wrong window and later, couldn’t find her license. The officer alleged that Searles smelled like alcohol and had bloodshot, glassy eyes. She agreed to field sobriety tests and then was arrested. She was also cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Searles had a court date on March 31.

Donna M. Rauseo Hammell, 43, of Boscawen, was arrested at 4:06 a.m. on March 15, on a bench warrant. A Concord officer and Boscawen officer were called to a domestic on Kesavan Drive in Boscawen. During the investigation, officers found that a man had propped a washing machine against a door, attempting to keep a person from leaving the home. A woman at the home, Hammell, had a bench warrant out of Plymouth District Court from Feb. 4, for basic rule and maximum limits, $205 cash to settle, and she was arrested.

Dean R. Merchant, 37, of Manchester, was arrested a 3:33 p.m. on March 15, on six counts of possession of controlled drugs, two of them felonies, and a driving while intoxicated charge. An officer was sent to Chase Street for a report of an unconscious man slumped over the wheel of his car. Upon arrival, the officer saw the man in the vehicle passed out while the engine was running. The officer knocked on the window several times but the driver, later identified as Merchant, was unresponsive. “While at the driver’s side window, I observed a syringe and a spoon in Merchant’s lap,” the officer wrote. The officer opened the door and Merchant reportedly woke up, saw the officer, and allegedly attempted to grab the syringe and exit the car. He was taken into custody. When asked if he had been doing drugs, Merchant allegedly stated he had just done “a 40 sack of heroin” that he shot up in the Walgreens parking lot. He reportedly said he was going to leave the car there but wasn’t feeling well so drove away. Merchant reportedly consented to a search of his car and the officer alleged found marijuana and 17 Clonazepam pills. He refused to give a blood test, according to the report. Merchant was held on $20,000 cash bail.

Wayne C. McMann, 41, of Concord, was arrested at 9:54 p.m. on March 15, on a felony possession of controlled drugs and a bench warrant. An officer in the Washington Street area looking for suspects in a theft case came across McMann and realized there was a bench warrant from June 2013 for nonpayment of a fine, $241.24 cash to settle, and he was arrested. During a search of his persons, the officer allegedly found a plastic bag with two pills, later identified as Oxycodone Hydrochloride, in McMann’s front pants pocket. McMann was arraigned on April 14.

Daniel Lawrence, 26, of Loudon, received a summons at 12:31 a.m. on March 16, for public disposal of human waste. While driving by the clock tower in Eagle Square an officer observed a man urinating in Eagle Square. The officer stopped, got out of the cruiser, and walked over to the man who was still going. “When he finished, the subject turned around to leave, and appeared surprised I was standing there,” the officer noted. Lawrence was cited and had a court date on April 21.

Shelby A. White, 23, of Concord, was arrested at 1:45 a.m. on March 16, on a driving while intoxicated charge. A detective on Loudon Road observed a Ford Mustang without its lights on. While following the vehicle, the officer alleged that it crossed over the white center line. The car was pulled over outside of the Hess station. The driver, White, allegedly had “very watery and red” eyes and smelled like alcohol. White allegedly fumbled around with her documents attempting to find a registration which she later produced two expired registrations. The officer also noted that the inspection sticker was from the previous month. White agreed to field sobriety tests and was arrested. After being arrested and placed in the patrol car, White allegedly “became extremely belligerent and began yelling and kicking the rear petition.” During processing, she was allegedly screaming. After agreeing to bail conditions, White allegedly told the officer that “she was going to write a song about me and that when she becomes famous I will feel like ‘shit’ for what I have done to her this evening.” She was also cited for unregistered motor vehicle and uninspected motor vehicle.

Amber Kneeland, 23, of Concord, was arrested at 2:22 a.m. on March 16, on a driving while intoxicated charge. An officer observed a Honda Civic on South Main Street not use proper signally while having trouble maintaining lane control, of a “suspicious nature.” The vehicle was pulled over on Thorndike Street. The driver, Kneeland, allegedly smelled like alcohol and said she had accidentally driven by her house and was circling around again in an effort to get home. She agreed to field sobriety tests and was arrested. Kneeland was arraigned on March 31.

Timothy Berwick, 23, of Concord, was arrested at 3:21 a.m. on March 16, on a driving while intoxicated charge. A sergeant pulled over Berwick while driving on North State Street. He agreed to field sobriety tests and was later arrested. During the booking process, the officer alleged that Berwick “vacillated between being sad and crying, to obstinate and rude.” He was arraigned on March 31.

Jonathan Cruz, 28, of Manchester received a summons at 3:29 p.m. on March 16, on a theft charge. An officer was called to Walmart on Loudon Road for a theft incident. A store employee alleged that Cruz had left the store with $211 worth of merchandise without paying for the items. Since he had two small children with him, he was given a summons. He had a court date on April 21.

Steven Eric Porterfield, 25, of Manchester, was arrested at 6:10 p.m. on March 16, on a violation of a protective order; penalty charge. The charge stems from an alleged incident at 10 a.m. on the day in question on Oak Hill Road. Manchester Police arrested Porterfield and he was held without bail. He was arraigned on March 17.
