The following information was supplied by the Concord Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • Brendon Patrick Carmody, 20, a homeless man in Concord, was arrested at 2:02 a.m. on March 25, and charged with second-degree assault (asphyxiation), a felony, two counts of criminal mischief (vandalism), and bench warrant from Concord District Court for unlawful possession. Officers were called to the Holiday Inn on North Main Street for a report of a domestic. Upon arrival, they found major damage to a room at the hotel. A 17-year-old girl from Oviedo, FL, stated that she had been living with Carmody previously in Manchester. She said that she was upset that he was not assisting her in finding a place to live. She alleged that at the time, he spit on her, slapped her, and fled she to a nearby house to get away and call her father. Her father rented the room for her so she could be close to a new job that she was starting. After she arrived at the hotel, Carmody allegedly began texting her, wanting to talk. The girl agreed to see and the two began to argue. Carmody allegedly pushed her and began chocking her. The girl had a red mark on her neck, the officer wrote. She was able to get free by striking Carmody in the testicles, she alleged, and he reportedly left the scene in a tank top and pajamas. While traveling near the Gully Hill area by Loudon Road, an officer spotted two men walking, both wearing pajama pants. He stopped the men and spoke to one, later identified as Carmody. Carmody reportedly told the officer that he had been staying at the hotel when the girl woke up and didn’t know where she was. Carmody alleged that she threw his computer and began hitting him. Carmody allegedly ordered her to get off him. After a bit more conversation with the officer, Carmody was arrested. The officer noted that Carmody “did not seem to grasp the seriousness of his arrest and made several lighthearted comments about it.” Carmody was held on $5,000 cash bail and arraigned on March 25. The girl was charged with criminal mischief for alleging damaging the computer.

On March 31, her friend Abe, who she had known about four years, came by to visit. They reportedly had a beer together, she said. At some point during the visit, Roz was allegedly “rummaging through her drawers” and she asked what he was doing and he allegedly said he had “the right to look through her belongings.” The woman alleged that Roz had her bag of medications in his hands but put them down when confronted about it. He left sometime between 11:30 and midnight and that is when she realized her medications were missing, according to the report. No one else had been in her apartment, she told the officer. The reporting officer began looking for Roz in the known homeless hangouts, the report stated. The officer saw someone who looked like Roz walking on Loudon Road and spoke to him. Roz allegedly confirmed that he had been at the apartment with the woman. The officer asked Roz if he could get the medication back for the woman and Roz allegedly handed his backpack to the officer and said, “Go ahead.” In the backpack, the officer allegedly found the medication and jewelry.
