Man Arrested on Open Container Charge

Concord Police allege that Carey Spear was drinking at Market Basket on Storrs Street.

A local man is facing another alcohol charge after being arrested by police last month.

Carey J. Spear, 41, of Concord, was arrested at 5:25 p.m. on June 8, on a possession of alcoholic beverages on public property.

An officer was flagged down in the parking lot of Market Basket on Storrs Street and noticed that Spear appeared to be “extremely intoxicated.” While talking to Spear, the officer alleged that there was a 24-ounce can of Natural Ice beer on a light post. While other officers arrived, Spears allegedly reached for the beer and finished drinking it. He was arrested and charged.
