CRIME LOG: Denver Man with Meth Tries to Kick in Apartment Door

The following information was supplied by the Concord Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Brittany K. Ashton, 28, of Concord, was arrested at 8:47 p.m. on Feb. 5, on a warrant. Officers were called to the Sunbright Laundormat for a report of a man who had broken into a change machine and fled the area. The person who reported the theft said the man who fled the area was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with a blue number on it and gray sweatpants with a yellow stripe. Officers scoured the area and located a man hiding in the back of a van in the parking lot on Loudon Road. While officers were speaking with him, Brittany Ashton came out of an apartment and spoke to officers. Dispatch advised that she had a warrant for bail jumping from the Bow Police Department. She was arrested and delivered to Bow Police at the Irving station near the Bow Junction.

Jill M. Riel, 32, of North Andover, MA, was arrested at 9 p.m. on Feb. 18, on a warrant. An officer was called to Village Street for a report of an out of control woman who had used heroin. The woman, Riel, had a warrant out of Plaistow Police for two counts of receiving stolen property, issued on Dec. 14, 2012. Riel was taken to Concord Hospital and discharged a couple of hours later and taken in for processing. She was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and was arraigned in Plaistow District Court on March 17. Riel was later transported to Penacook and released to family member.

Luis Rodriguez, 26, of Manchester, was arrested at 8:23 p.m. on Feb. 20, and charged with two counts of burglary, both felonies, four counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, all felonies, and three counts of conspiracy, two that were felonies. On Feb. 14, detectives interviewed a woman who lived on North Main Street about a burglary in an apartment above hers involving stolen firearms and jewelry. The woman alleged that she and her boyfriend, Rodriguez, were responsible for the burglary. She allegedly told officers she was on "lookout" when Rodriguez broke into the home. They later allegedly sold the jewelry to Cash for Gold on Manchester Street. The detectives took video from the store and matched it up with information from the Manchester Police Department and an arrest warrant was taken out for Rodriguez.

Steven Michael Rossi, 33, of Concord, was arrested at 7:15 a.m. on Feb. 21, and charged with two counts of possession of controlled drugs, on a felony, disorderly conduct, and fugitive from justice, a felony. Officers were called to an apartment on Fisherville Road for a report of a suspicious person in the area. Witnesses reported that a man with blonde hair was outside their apartments screaming obscenities, allegedly attempting to kick in an apartment door. The man, Rossi, was taken into custody. During a search, a glass pipe and container with marijuana were allegedly found in his pockets. A bag of methamphetamine was allegedly found in one of his socks. Denver District Court reported an active warrant for Rossi for probation violation on an assault accusation from Jan. 27.

Roger B. Cummings, 72, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at noon in Feb. 21, on a bench warrant. An officer was sent to The Friendly Kitchen for a report of a man with an open container of alcohol who refused to leave. The officer spoke to staffers who stated that the man refused to throw away the beer when requested and refused to leave. Later, he left and was walking near I-393. Staffers didn’t want to pursue charges but also stated he would not be welcome for the day. Officers began looking for the man, later identified as Cummings, and he was found on North Main Street. A check revealed a bench warrant from Jan. 29, for transporting alcohol and he was arrested.

Talwar Piyush, 18, of Henniker, was summoned at 6:50 p.m. on Feb. 21, for operating without a valid license and transportation of alcohol/open container. An officer was sent to a car crash at the Shell station on Loudon Road between a Mazda and a Ford Crown Victoria. There were five young people at the accident and the officers questioned all involved about what was going on. During the process of doing this, it was revealed that Piyush, a New England College student, allegedly didn’t have a driver’s license and was driving with an open container in his vehicle. He’s due in court on April 14.

Alex Lambert, 22, of Londonderry, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. on Feb. 22, on a driving while intoxicated charge. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Bog Road that was revving its engine and driving into snow banks. Upon arrival, the reporting officer met up with Lambert who reportedly told the officer he was walking home from an unknown bar in Concord. “I observed that Lambert was slurring his words, had bloodshot glassy eyes, had trouble walking, and had an intense odor of alcoholic beverage coming from him when he spoke,” the officer reported. Another man, a Virginia state trooper, reported seeing Lambert in a 2001 Nissan Maxima that was driving in the parking area of the apartment complex “driving recklessly.” The man told the officer the vehicle was on the west side of the apartment complex. He ran between the buildings in an attempt to follow the car. He went to speak to Lambert who was, at that point, standing next to the vehicle allegedly “fumbling around with some items inside the vehicle.” The reporting officer spoke with witnesses in the area and a passenger of the vehicle who alleged that Lambert was driving. Lambert was asked to perform some field sobriety tests and reportedly refused and was arrested. He refused bail and was arraigned on Feb. 24.

Jackson Duane McFarlin, 19, of Penacook, was arrested at 3 p.m. on Feb. 22, and charged with two possession of controlled drugs charges, one a felony, possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute, a felony, and possession of drugs. While monitoring traffic on Sewalls Falls Road an officer saw a black Volkswagen Gulf without a front license plate. The vehicle was pulled over near Monitor Drive. Upon inspection, the car did have a license plate but it was bent under the vehicle of the bumper. While speaking with the driver, McFarlin, the officer allegedly smelled marijuana inside the car. McFarlin allegedly told the officer his brother used the car and may have smoked in it earlier. When asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle at that time, McFarlin allegedly opened the car’s center console and handed the officer a pipe with marijuana in it that hadn’t been smoked. McFarlin was asked if there was anything else in the car and allegedly admitted that there was a scale and more marijuana in the backseat and he was arrested. During a pat down, the officer also found a small plastic bag with a single tab of Opana, an opioid pain medication, and a straw. In the car, police found a Mason jar with three bags of marijuana, a digital scale, a grinder, a pipe, a bong, and several empty bags. He’s due in court on March 31.

Todd Everette Farr, 27, of Bristol, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. on Feb. 22, on a warrant. Officers were called to Canton Circle to assist fire and rescue teams with an unresponsive man in a vehicle. A caller reported that the man had been in a Saturn station wagon for about an hour while the engine was running. The driver stated that he had fallen asleep after dropping off a friend. A check of Farr revealed a warrant out of Portsmouth District Court from Feb. 6, on a conduct after an accident and he was arrested. Farr's due in court on March 24.

Charlotte Cook, 43, of Weare, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. on Feb. 23, on two driving while intoxicated charges. An employee of the Loudon Road Family Restaurant reported to police that an intoxicated woman had left the restaurant in a Hyundai. An officer came across the vehicle in the area of McDonald’s and stopped the car. The officer alleged that the driver, Cook, smelled like alcohol and was asked to step out of the car and perform some field sobriety tests. She was later arrested and was arraigned on March 10.
