ARRESTS: Wife Arrested After Pouring Beer on Husband's Head

The following information was supplied by the Concord Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Zachary Gove, 21, of Concord, was arrested at 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 2, 2013, on a prowling charge. An officer was called to the intersection of Penwood Drive and Lilac Street in Penacook for a report of two white men reportedly going through vehicles in the parking lot of the Penwood Drive Apartments at around 2 a.m. The caller gave descriptions of the men and stated they went off into the woods. Upon arrival, the officer saw a Jeep Cherokee that was parked on the side of the road with its engine running. The Jeep turned its lights on and began driving toward the police cruiser. The officer stated that the driver appeared to be a similar age and description that the caller gave. The officer presumed that the driver of the car may have realized he was a police officer or may have even witnessed something, so the officer stopped the Jeep. The driver, Gove, reportedly “was sweating from his forehead” and “was having trouble maintaining eye contact,” the officer stated. Gove reportedly didn’t have a license and stated that the vehicle belonged to his roommate. The officer asked what Gove was doing in the area, and he allegedly stated that he had been in an argument with his girlfriend on Fisherville Road and “left to clear his head” and “smoke his hookah pen.” Gove allegedly said he was heading to work in Franklin, which is why he was leaving. “I did not smell or see any smoke coming from the vehicle to corroborate Gove’s story that he was smoking,” the officer wrote. “I also noticed, at the time, that Gove was wearing green pajama pants. I did not find that this would be consistent with what someone would wear to work.” Gove later allegedly admitted he lied and wasn’t going to work. The officer also noticed a GPS unit sitting on the back seat of the Jeep. The officer then called Gove’s girlfriend who was awakened by the call and denied there had been a fight. She also stated that she hadn't seen him since the day before. The woman asked about the phone call and the officer stated that they were looking into a possible car theft incident. The girlfriend reportedly said, “That doesn’t surprise me.” When asked to clarify, she reportedly stated that Gove was working part-time and didn’t have a lot of money but was not aware of him committing thefts from vehicles in the past. While officers attempted to locate Gove’s roommate, the reporting officer went to speak to the witness, who described being woken up at 1:45 a.m. by the sound of a car door opening outside his apartment. The witness looked out the apartment window and saw a man inside his mother’s car. The officer inspected vehicles in the parking lot and noted that six cars appeared to have been rummaged through. There was no forced entry in the cars, the report noted. Gove was arrested. During an inventory of the Jeep, an officer allegedly found “numerous electronic items inside of a backpack that was in the back seat of the vehicle,” including GPS units, CDs, a radar detector, and cords. He had a court date on Jan. 6.

Scott Lee McFarlin, 43, of Boscawen, was arrested at 10:10 p.m. on Dec. 5, 2013, and charged with disorderly conduct and default or breach of bail conditions. Officers were called to Regional Drive to investigate a suspicious person, a man, dressed in black, walking in the middle of the road. The caller noted that while driving in the fog, he had to swerve to avoid hitting the man. One of the officers spotted the man, later identified as McFarlin, walking on the sidewalk. The officer spoke to McFarlin and alleged that his eyes were bloodshot, speech was slurred, and swayed from side to side. The officer asked if he was walking in the middle of the road and McFarlin allegedly stated he was hitchhiking but was not in the middle of the road. He allegedly admitted to having a couple of beers, said he would be able to pass a drug test, because he was clean, but would “definitely fail the Budweiser test.” Drinking, however, was a violation of McFarlin’s bail from a previous arrest in November. When asked to take a breath test, McFarlin, instead, allegedly put his hands behind his back and said, “Just go ahead and arrest me and take me to Boscawen,” according to a court document. During processing, McFarlin allegedly made homophobic and derogatory sexual comments to the officers and refused bail.

Susan M. Marston, 48, a homeless woman now located in Concord, was arrested at 8:28 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2013, on a criminal trespass charge. An officer was called to North Main Street for a report of an unwanted individual who was refusing to leave. The landlord of the building alleged that Marston was refusing to leave, in violation of no loitering and no trespass signs in the building. Martson allegedly told the landlord that she was waiting for a friend. The landlord alleged she was intoxicated and when he asked her to leave and she wouldn’t, he stated. The officer reportedly warned her repeatedly that she needed to leave and Marston said she wouldn't without her dog. Later, she allegedly told the officer, “Go f--- yourself,” after saying again that she had to leave. She was later arrested and held without bail.

Norton was told “repeatedly,” according to the reporting officer, to shut off the water and get out of the shower but allegedly refused. An employee at the store stated while monitoring video surveillance that MacDonald allegedly tried to remove a security wrap from a digital camera and conceal it in his pocket. MacDonald then allegedly left the store without paying for the camera. The employee followed him and stopped him outside and alleged that along with the $90 Sony camera, he also had three Trio media players valued at around $70 under his shirt. The officer viewed footage of the alleged thefts and arrested MacDonald. Bail was set at $3,000 cash, and a parole officer put a 72-hold on MacDonald. He was arraigned on Dec. 9.
