Concord Cleans Up After Storm

A freak thunderstorm that may have been a microburst ripped through Concord during the late evening hours of July 19, into the early morning of July 20.

The storm reportedly had winds of up to 80 miles per hour at the height of its impact, knocking out power for thousands across Concord and the capitol region. The storm also whipped through Main Street making a mess of the Market Days Festival tents and displays. However, by 10 a.m., everything was up and running for the festival’s last day.

As of 10:15 a.m. on July 20, more than 700 Unitil customers in Concord and surrounding communities were without power.
