Fightin’ Cousins Lands Teen in Court

Concord Police: Teen allegedly locked victim in a basement.

A local teen will be arraigned in court today after an alleged assault against her cousin.

Julianne Cheryl Heath, 19, of Concord, was arrested at 6:11 p.m. on March 23, and charged with simple assault (personal weapons) and false imprisonment.

Officers were called to Hullbakers Place for a domestic disturbance between cousins with dispatch saying that one punched the other in the face.

Officers met with a man at the home and later, a woman, the victim, who stated that during an argument about her friends, Heath allegedly “got in her face and pushed her with open hands in her upper body.” The woman swung back and said she missed, and went to the basement to get her clothes to leave.

But when she went to exit the basement, she reportedly couldn’t open the door because it was closed and locked from the outside. She began banging on the door and couldn’t get out, according to the report.

The officers then went into the home and spoke with Heath and a relative.

The relative confirmed the victim’s account of the situation, but said that the victim “grazed” Heath’s right cheek. The woman added that Heath allegedly pushed the victim twice.

When speaking with the officers, Health allegedly admitted to assaulting her cousin and locking her in the basement. She was later arrested and is due in court on April 28.

At about this time last year, Heath was arrested on a negligent driving charge, according to an arrest report.
