Barb Higgins, Neighbor

As Concord native who has lived all but 10 years of my life here I feel very connected to my community on many levels. I remember the Concord of my youth and have love watching my daughters make their own memories here. As a former elite distance runner I was fortunate enough to travel to 29 states and two foreign countries to train and compete. I have also traveled for personal and professional reasons to many other states and countries. My experiences have given me a wonderful view of the world as a whole which has given me a nice perspective on life here in Concord. I am a teacher, mother and coach. I loved training at White Mountain CrossFit back in the day and now pursue my fitness goals at Crossfit Ironborn. I do not run the roads, tracks, and trails of the greater Concord area like I used to but coach young athletes at Bow High School. I once competed as a tap dancer. I am a member of the Concord School Board. In my spare time (not that I ever have any!) I enjoy writing, dancing, skiing, hiking, and playing the violin. I have two lovebirds named Joker and Mollybird. Since my daughter Molly died in May of 2016 I have struggled to live day to day. A year of fog, a year of pain and now, half way through year three a bit of hope is at times is emerging. Getting back to writing will, I hope, help that process.
