TELL US: Should a Water Fountain Be Constructed at the Statehouse?

Complete Streets plan includes water "feature" for children to play in.

One of new design elements featured in the Complete Streets Main Street project is a children’s water play fountain to be constructed in front of the Statehouse, off the intersection of North Main and Capitol streets.

The “water element” is being proposed in an effort to bring more children and families to Downtown Concord. One of the designers noted that it would similar to the public water fountain on Huntington Avenue in Boston, at the First Church of Christ, Scientist Center.

That reflecting pool, fountain, and church are spread over 14 acres and is a popular tourist attraction.
