Teen Vandals Go Wild in the Capital Commons Garage

Concord Police arrest five; fire extinguishers sprayed in and on cars; "disturbing images" including a swastika left on the vehicles.

Concord Police officers have arrested five in connection with early morning vandalism against cars parked in the Capital Commons Parking Garage.

At around 1:15 a.m., officers were called to the garage after receiving a report of “suspicious activity involving numerous subjects.” When they arrived, officers pursued a number of suspects on foot.

Five were arrested, including Travis Clark, 17, of Loudon, and Jonathan Cappucci, 18, of Concord, who were both charged with criminal mischief and resisting arrest. Three others that were caught were juveniles.

Three vehicles, according to Lt. Michael McGuire, watch commander for the patrol division, were damaged during the incidents. The alleged perpetrators used four fire extinguishers to spray both inside and outside the vehicles.

“One vehicle sustained heavy damage to its interior as a result of extinguisher deployment,” he noted in a press release. “Continued investigation revealed that disturbing images and words were drawn onto the vehicles, including a swastika on one vehicle.”

Both Clark and Cappucci were released on $4,000 personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned in court on April 29. The juveniles were released to their parents and guardians, McGuire said.

Cappucci was arrested back in November 2011, on two counts of possession of controlled drugs, with one of those counts being a felony.
