Police Called to Head Injury at Concord Homeless Camp

Man taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for treatment; State Police investigating.

A homeless man living in an encampment on Fort Eddy Road near the I-393 overpass was taken to the hospital on Aug. 6, for a head injury and police are currently investigating whether a crime took place at the camp.

New Hampshire State Troopers, Concord Fire and Rescue teams, and Concord Police arrived at the scene around 6:45 p.m. for a report that the man, Paul Tinkham, 52, had a head injury after falling on some rocks.

According to scanner chatter, it was unknown whether or not he fell on his own or was pushed by someone else at the camp. Tinkham was also wanted on an electronic bench warrant, according to dispatch. An officer at the scene reported back to dispatch, “We’re not going to worry about that today,” adding that Tinkham had a fractured skull.
