Ohio Man Arrested After Assaulting Woman in a Trailer

Two others arrested for underage alcohol.

Concord Police arrested three people, two from out of state, after an early morning incident on Fisherville Road, allegedly involving assault, vandalism, and minors in possession of alcohol.

Fantasia Hillsgrove, 19, of Minot, ND, was arrested at 5:40 a.m. on Dec. 28, on an unlawful possession of alcohol charge. Landon Yvan Corbeil, 20, of Lima, Ohio, was arrested at 5:55 a.m. on Dec. 28, and charged with two counts of simple assault (personal weapons), criminal mischief (vandalism), and unlawful possession of alcohol. Matthew Lawrence Finethy, 18, of Center Barnstead, was arrested at 5:55 a.m. on Dec. 28, on an unlawful possession of alcohol charge.

According to Concord Police and arrest reports, a number of officers were sent to a criminal mischief call on 107 Fisherville Road at around 5:15 a.m. for a report of a man kicking a parked car.

A neighbor reported hearing what sounded like kicking coming from outside her trailer and then a loud bang. The neighbor said she looked out the window and saw a young man kicking a Honda that was parked in a parking lot.

The officer drove to the vehicle and saw that it had a smashed mirror, blood on the driver’s side window and a headlight, and a dent on a door. The officer observed that the blood left a trail from the vehicle debris to the door of one of the trailers.

The officer went over to the trailer and spoke to Corbeil, who was bleeding from his hand and had marks and scratches all over his face, neck, and arms.

“As soon as I began speaking to Corbeil, I immediately came to the conclusion that Corbeil had been drinking alcohol,” the officer reported.

Corbeil, the officer alleged, had a hard time standing and was unsteady on his feet, and needed to brace himself against a railing while speaking with the officer. When asked to take a portable breath test or a field sobriety test, he allegedly refused, according to the reporting officer.

One witness said that he drove Corbeil to the trailer to go to sleep but he allegedly “started flipping out.”

The woman who lived in the trailer alleged that Corbeil was “hocking loogies” all over the place and knocking things over in the bathroom. The actions, she said, upset her, and she told him to leave. Corbeil then allegedly shoved her and attempted to “swipe a bunch of items out of a kitchen cupboard.” Corbeil allegedly “grabbed her right arm and (dug) his nails into (her) arm,” the officer reported.

At that point, the report stated, Corbeil allegedly got on top of the woman and ripped a clump of hair out of the back of her scalp and kept trying to punch her. The woman then clawed Corbeil in an effort to get him to stop but other people in the trailer got involved and removed Corbeil.

Corbeil then left the trailer and allegedly began damaging the Honda.

The woman handed a clump of hair to the officer as evidence.

Hillsgrove, according to one of the reports, was also assaulted by Corbeil, as she tried to remove him from on top of the woman. She allegedly requested police not charge him and later, refused to cooperate further with the investigation. Hillsgrove, the officer alleged, smelled like alcohol and after being questioned, was arrested.

Another man was located in a bedroom of the residence who was also showing signs of alcohol impairment.

The man, Finethy, was reportedly unsteady on his feet and had a difficult time speaking.

“As Finethy was walking down the hallway, Finethy lost his balance and hit a hallway wall with his right shoulder,” the officer wrote. “Finethy was having a hard time forming complete sentences and was slurring his words."

During questioning, Finethy allegedly admitted he was only 18 and had been drinking vodka.

The officer attempted to get Finethy to submit to a field sobriety test and at first, he reportedly did. But later, he stopped and refused more tests. He also allegedly refused to submit to a portable breath test and was arrested.
