Mass. Sex Offender Arrested at The Friendly Kitchen

Mass. State Police: Stephen Frostholm Jr. failed to register after leaving New Hampshire State Prison in Concord.

If you saw the Massachusetts State Police and other law enforcement officials at The Friendly Kitchen earlier today, here’s why: TheViolent Fugitive Apprehension Section of that state's state police department came to Concord looking for Stephen H. Frostholm Jr., 47, a convicted sex offender who failed to register, as required by law.

The state police had received information recently that Frostholm, who has used other aliases like “Stephen Hancock,” and was a "high risk" Level 3 sex offender, “was likely in Concord.” The troopers came to New Hampshire and along with Concord Police and members of the U.S. Marshals Service, began looking for the man. The teams set up “surveillance on two areas of interest” and later, found Frostholm walking in a parking lot near The Friendly Kitchen on South Commercial Street.

Frostholm was arrested without incident, according to police, and taken back to Massachusetts where he will face charges. The arrest was the third in two weeks of high-risk sex offenders.

Frostholm, according to police, was convicted in 2001 for rape of a child and incident assault and battery on a child under 14, two boys, specifically, while working as a bus driver in Barnstable. He had also completed prison stints in Maine and New Hampshire for similar assaults against children.

In June, Frostholm was released from the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord and allegedly told officials he was heading to a shelter in Boston. Officials informed him that he would need to register as a sex offender. He left the prison on foot and was not heard from again, according to police.
