Elderly Man Arrested on Criminal Trespass Charge

Concord Police: Man was demanding keys from tenants for all the cars in the parking lot.

An elderly man is due in court next week on a criminal trespass charge after refusing to leave private property when told to.

George E. Duclos, 72, of Concord, was arrested at 10 a.m. on June 1, and charged with criminal trespass.

According to a Concord Police arrest report, an officer was called to Garvins Falls Road for a report of an elderly man knocking on apartment doors demanding keys to all the vehicles in the parking lot.

The man reportedly was yelling that all the cars in the lot belonged to him and he wasn’t going to leave without them.

When the officer arrived, the man, Duclos, was sitting with three small dogs in his minivan, while other officers arrived at the scene. Duclos alleged that the dogs – a Chihuahua and two Lhasa Apsos “that were quite docile and timid” – would attack the officer.

Duclos refused to roll down the van’s windows but the officer reported that he could hear him yelling from the van that all the cars – including the police cruisers – were his.

Duclos’ grandson attempted to intervene in the situation as well.

The property manager told officers that the man was not welcome on the property and had been warned and told several times not to be on the property.

However, officers alleged, Duclos still would not leave, so he was arrested. Duclos was later released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and sent to Concord Hospital for evaluation. He is due in court on July 1.
