ARRESTS: Man Faces Multiple Charges After Hopkinton Road Crash

The following information was supplied by the Concord Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Editor’s Note: Due to more extensive narratives in the Concord Police arrest reports, it’s taking a little bit longer to transcribe entries and that is why the dates vary so widely.

  • Felicia N. Jordan, 23, of Hooksett, was arrested at 2:35 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2012, on a theft charge. According to an arrest report, an officer was called to Walmart on Loudon Road for a shoplifter in custody. A loss prevention officer alleged that Jordan was in the grocery section of the store, carrying a large purse “that was misshapen.” As he watched Jordan, he allegedly saw her pick up items and conceal them in her purse. Jordan later allegedly bypassed the cash registers and left the store near the grocery exit. The loss prevention officer reportedly stopped Jordan in the parking lot and she agreed to return to the store. Twenty-three items, valued at $31.58, were allegedly in her purse. The report noted that Jordan reportedly denied stealing some of the items. She was arrested and later released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail. She is due in court on Feb. 4.
  • Michael Maynard was arrested at 4:32 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2012, on a default or breach of bail conditions charge. The charge was from Dec. 6, 2012, at the Walmart on Loudon Road. According to an arrest report, officers were called to the Vegas Block Apartments on North Main Street 154 N. Main St. to serve Maynard with an arrest warrant and to question Maynard for his possible involvement in a burglary on Dec. 28, 2012. While speaking with his sister, who denied he was at the apartment, Maynard reportedly appeared in the hallway in front of other officers. He was then arrested, held without bail, and arraigned on Jan. 2.
  • Michael James Dempsey, 28, of Loudon, was arrested at 5:40 a.m. on Jan. 1, and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated second offense, aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving after revocation or suspension, negligent driving, and default or breach of bail conditions. He was also issued a summons for failure to stop at a stop sign. An officer was called to the intersection of Hopkinton and Long Pond roads for an accident a little after 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Upon arrival, the officer reportedly saw an Isuzu Rodeo about 30 feet off the road in some woods on the south side of Hopkinton Road. The SUV had struck a tree and snapped a utility pole in half. The officer observed a man allegedly sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle with the radio on and “blood coming from his mouth area.” The officer tried to arouse the man, later identified as Dempsey, because he appeared to be asleep or unconscious but was initially unable to. Eventually, the man reportedly lifted his head and opened his eyes. The officer attempted to keep the man awake while questioning him about the situation and waiting for Concord Fire and Rescue teams to arrive. While Dempsey was being treated, an officer interviewed the passenger of Dempsey’s vehicle who said they had reportedly taken the long way home from Cumberland Farms on Fisherville Road, through Hutchins Road. Dempsey, the passenger alleged, was driving way too fast on the road. He allegedly estimated their speed to be about 45 mph when they went through a stop sign at Hopkinton Road. The passenger alleged that Dempsey had been drinking and EMTs reportedly stated they believed he was allegedly intoxicated. Dempsey was transported to Concord Hospital where blood was reportedly drawn. He was later arrested and released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail. Dempsey was arraigned on Jan. 14.
  • Marilyn Jean Slocum, 51, of Concord, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 4, and charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. The charges stemmed from alleged incidents at the Concord Family YMCA and the Market Basket on Storrs Street, on Dec. 19, 2012. Police allege that Slocum stole a Citizens Bank debit card and a Chase VISA card. The alleged victim in the case was a Concord resident who was reportedly a stranger. Slocum reportedly turned herself into police. She was released on $2,000 personal recognizance and is due in Sixth Circuit Division District Court on Feb. 4.
  • Patrick H. Lena, 45, of Concord, was arrested at 6:50 p.m. on Jan. 6, and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child/incompetent. He was later released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and has a court date on Jan. 28.
  • Stacey A. Hamilton, 27, of Bristol, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 14, on two bench warrants. The bench warrants were for nonpayment of fine, $360, in relation to a driving after suspension conviction out of the Franklin District Court on Sept. 14, 2012. The second was out of Lebanon District Court for nonappearance on a driving while intoxicated charge from July 24, 2012, with a $350 cash bail requirement. • Pyong Kil Kim, 26, of Concord, was arrested at 9:40 p.m. on Jan. 28, on a driving after revocation or suspension charge. Officers and fire and rescue teams were sent to an accident at around 9:15 a.m. outside Town Fair Tire on Loudon Road between a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and a 2003 Suzuki SUV. There were no injuries reported in the accident. According to the report, Kim was driving west on Loudon Road when his Suzuki was reportedly rear-ended by the Cruze. The vehicle ended up skidding across the road and hitting the building. Kim denied speeding “and had no other details about the accident or what caused it,” according to the officer. While running the information on Kim and his Suzuki, it was revealed the license plate should have been on a 1999 Mercedes ML4. Kim, a South Korean national, allegedly acknowledged switching plates and claimed that they both belonged to his family. Kim’s license also came up as suspended by the DMV on Sept. 21, 2009. He allegedly stated that he had a Connecticut license but didn’t have it on him. Kim was arrested and charged, and later released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail with a court date on March 4. Another officer was later dispatched to Concord Collision on Hall Street and took custody of the plate.
  • Michael C. Johnson, 27, of Concord, was arrested at 2:58 a.m. on Feb. 2, and charged with two counts driving while intoxicated. An officer observing traffic at the corner of South Main and Water streets reportedly saw a gray SUV driving strangely in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at a little before 3 a.m. The SUV reportedly was driving in reverse across the lot and then headed off onto West Street. The officer went to follow the vehicle and caught up with it on South State Street. “I observed both driver side wheels pass completely over the solid double yellow line,” the officer wrote, before the vehicle reportedly struck a curb, swerved again, and crossed more double yellow lines. The officer pulled the vehicle over and spoke to Johnson, who allegedly had “a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle.” Johnson gave his license and registration to the officer, allegedly with “some difficulty,” offering conversation that was “slow and deliberate, his speech was slurred and his responses were difficult to understand,” the officer alleged. Johnson was later arrested and transportation was found for the other passengers in the SUV. Johnson was later released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Feb. 28.

The vehicle was stopped at the western entrance of the arena. Dispatch reported that there was a warrant out for Devlin’s arrest issued by Concord District Court on Jan. 15, for nonappearance for an operating after revocation charge. He was arrested and released on $500 cash bail and is due in court on March 11.
