ARRESTS: Man Due in Court After Sibling Cigarette Squabble

The following information was supplied by the Concord Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • Lisa Jean Brown, 37, of Loudon, was arrested at 1:10 p.m. on Nov. 30, and charged with willful concealment. According to an arrest report, police were called to T.J.Maxx on Loudon Road for a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, the officer met with the loss prevention employee of the store who alleged that Brown had taken three shirts, valued at about $30, and allegedly concealed them under her coat. Brown then allegedly grabbed another shirt, went to the customer service desk, and requested that it to be put on hold. Brown then allegedly exited the store without paying for the three other shirts. The loss prevention officer introduced himself to Brown in the vestibule of the store and retrieved the shirts. The reporting officer stated, “based on her history, Brown was taken (into) full custody” and process without incident. She was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Dec. 31.
  • Riley Burley, 19, of Gilmanton Ironworks, received a summons at 6:57 p.m. on Nov. 30, for driving after revocation or suspension. According to a summons report, Burley asked for police assistance relating to an issue with his sister, a Concord woman, his military ID, and cigarettes he was consuming that the sister reportedly wanted money for. Having hearing about the situation, the reporting officer agreed to follow Burley to Ormond Street so he could get his ID. Burley allegedly got into his Jeep and drove from the police station to his sister’s house, along with a female passenger. Upon arriving at the sister’s house, the officer was given the ID but Burley allegedly refused to pay for the cigarettes. While all this was going on, the officer reportedly asked dispatch to make sure that Burley had a valid license. According to dispatch, Burley’s license reportedly was suspended on Nov. 26. The officer then issued Burley the summons and he is due in court on Dec. 31.
  • Brandon James Abbott, 19, of Concord, was arrested at 6:35 p.m. on Dec. 2, on a theft charge from Sears on Loudon Road. According to an arrest report, at about 5:23 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Sears for “two shoplifters in the office who were not very cooperative.” Abbott and another person were reportedly sitting in a Sears office next to each other and were handcuffed. According to two loss prevention officers, Abbott and the other person were in the process of selecting numerous pieces of clothing, trying on the clothes, and putting them back on shelves. During the process of trying things on, one of the loss prevention workers believed that Abbott “took two pairs of pants” from the store without paying for them. Later, the prevention officer reportedly caught up with Abbott as he and the other individual were at the food court. The two agree to come back to Sears and once there, they “became somewhat aggressive and mouthy” towards the one of the loss prevention officers who later handcuffed them both and called police. The loss prevention officer later alleged that Abbott stole three pairs of Dickies work pants valued at $126. He was charged with theft. Bail was set at $2,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Concord District Court on Jan. 7, 2013.
  • Manirampa Melance, 32, of Concord, received a summons at 10:42 p.m. on Dec. 2, for driving after revocation or suspension. According to a report, Melance was pulled over while driving a Honda Civic at 10:07 p.m. on Nov. 28. The Civic, according to police, had a taillight that was not working. After a license and registration check, it was alleged that Melance had a suspended license. She is due in court on Dec. 31.
  • Dylan Chenette, 17, of Boscawen, was arrested at 12:02 p.m. on Dec. 3, and charged with five counts of simple assault (personal weapons), and single counts of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest or detention, and criminal threatening (intimidation, etc.). He had a court date on Dec. 3.
  • Jonathan G. Whitaker, 24, of Concord, was arrested on Dec. 3, on a bench warrant. He was arrested at 9:15 a.m. at the Concord Police Department headquarters on Green Street. Cash bail was set at $500 and Whitaker had a court date on Dec. 3.
  • Robin M. Buckley, 26, of Berlin, was arrested at 5:16 p.m. on Dec. 3, on a driving while after revocation or suspension charge. According to an arrest report, while on patrol at Warren and North State streets, the reporting officer observed a van, allegedly with a side headlight out. The vehicle was pulled over. The officer alleged that Buckley was not in possession of her license. During a DMV check, it was alleged that Buckley’s license was suspended on Oct. 6, for default of a court summons. Registrations on the vehicle were also allegedly expired on Nov. 30. Buckley was arrested on an operating after suspension charge and issued two warnings for defective equipment and change of address required. She was also issued a summons for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Buckley was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and she is due in court on Jan. 7, 2013.
