It's about Midsummer Night Magic and more!!

As difficult as it may be to believe, we are only days away from the official first day of summer and the longest day of the year.

That represents lots of things to lots of people but here in Concord, it also means an event that has quickly become an integral part of our local calendar - Midsummer Night Magic.

This Friday evening, the 20th, things kick off at 4 PM in front of the State House where you can listen to music, participate in the sure to be memorable "Mosaic 250" project and just have a really great time as you await the start of the "Creative Concord Caravan" parade at 6:15.  If you've never attended, then give it a try.  If you have, make certain to return since this year's promises to be the best yet.

Later in the evening our beloved Community Players will perform "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and they'll be an outdoor screening of "The NeverEnding Story" hosted by our own Red River Theatres.

The event is free, so come and celebrate both the start of the summer season and the joy in living in Concord.

Event Organizer Jessica Fogg made a stop at WKXL the other day to join me on "Downtown Dialogues". If anyone knows what is happening in our community it's Jessica and we never get tired of talking about the pleasure in living in our town.

For starters there's the Granite State Music Festival, promising to be the best yet and featuring the new Kidzone.  In July there's Market Days, in August the fundraising Porkfest, in September the justly celebrated Concord Multicultural Festival and in October = "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" a benefit for the Crisis Center.

Those are just for starters.

You can also check out Jessica's website or Facebook page to find out more about these and other events. Just go to: jfoggsocialinspirations.com.

Hope to see you at some or all of these exciting events that help to make Concord a great place to live, work and to play!
