A former New Hampshire Senator has jumped into the fray of whether or not an NSA whistleblower was correct in letting the people of the world know that the United States government is spying on them, according to the British newspaper the Guardian.

In the email, Humphrey stated that Snowden had “done the right thing in exposing what I regard as massive violation of the United States Constitution.”

Snowden, through reporter Glenn Greenwald, thanked the Senator for his email saying, “I only wish more of our lawmakers shared your principles - the actions I've taken would not have been necessary.”
