“It Had To Be Done, So I Did It”

“It Had To Be Done, So I Did It” represents rural New Hampshire

women at work from 1900-1980.  It
is based on interviews of over sixty Warner women from May 1983 until June
1985.  The dramatic reading toured

for over twenty years and was heard by thousands before the program was

retired. On November 22, join us at the museum as these poignant stories are

retold.

Rebecca Courser, Executive
Director of the Warner Historical Society and a volunteer with the oral history
project, will present the reading accompanied by photographs of the women and
the work they represented from farm wife to teacher and town clerk to telephone
operator.

We hope to see you at the museum!
