Donations Needed for HOBY Project

Andrew Georgevits, who resides in East Concord is once again spearheading efforts for this year's HOBY program.  

HOBY which stands for Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership is an outstanding program for high school students to become ambassadors for the Granite State. HOBY'S Vision is "To motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference within our global society through understanding and action based on effective and compassionate leadership." CORE Values include volunteerism, excellence, organizational integrity, diversity, innovative thinking, community partnership, lifelong learning leadership, and opportunities.

HOBY'S Mission: To insure and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation.  

HOBY's Process includes in September of each year, selection guidelines, promotional materials, information on HOBY and registration form are mailed to all public and private high schools with endorsement by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. All principals are encouraged to conduct a selection process in their sophomore classes to recognize and nominate a sophomore student leader to become eligible  to be a participant for both the local seminar and the World Leadership Congress. Georgevits, who attended Concord High School, has become very involved in this program following his selection when he was at Concord High School. Georgevits who is in his early 20s has become a leader and very involved in Concord's community programs. He has also participated in several political candidates election campaigns. He works very hard in raising the necessary funds to help make this program a success.
