VIDEO: Concord Chamber Members Donate a Ton of Food

More than 2,400 lbs. of food collected at Business After Hours.

Hundreds of business leaders in Concord, both young and old, helped collect more than a ton of food for the Capitol Region Food Program.

The and held its annual holiday Business After Hours event and the price of admission was at least four items of non-perishable food.

More than 2,400 lbs. of food were donated, topping last year’s amount, according to Maria ManusPainchaud, chairwoman of the holiday food basket project. The food will go into baskets to help about 2,700 families in the capitol region. ManusPainchaud said the group had more than 1,000 volunteers this year, with 55 key volunteers, making sure the nonprofit was able to distribute food year-round without paid staff.
