Your Endicott Hotel, Green Martini Memories

The historic hotel and basement restaurant have been fixtures in Concord for decades. Do you have any memories to share?

A fire at on Feb. 12, stirred a lot of memories for people in Concord.

The historic hotel at the corner of South Main Street and Pleasant Street Extension has been a Concord landmark since the 1890s. The basement has served as eatery of one kind or another.

The Endicott Grill was housed there for many decades. Upon hearing about the fire, a family member of mine sent an email sharing memories of their family visiting the Grill for various meals in the 1940s and 1950s.

A few months ago, blogger Paul Brogan offered about his time working at the hotel.

In the early 1980s, the basement eatery was first location, offering their Mexican fare and live music before it moved around the corner to Hills Avenue. The current location later became the Arizona Restaurant, continuing the tradition of live music, a bar, and tables for food on one side and , with a pub atmosphere, on the other side.

About five or six years ago, when musician Duane D’Agnese sold the business, the new owner dropped the Arizona name and consolidated it to just The Green Martini.

Many and have played there over the years (including myself). While there have been always been changes to the restaurant and music scene, in recent years The Green Martini has been a staple for open mic nights and both original and cover band performances.
