IMAGES: ‘Celebrity’ Painters Raise Thousands

Intown Concord fundraiser an artistic, financial success.

Intown Concord raised thousands of dollars on March 14, at its annual general meeting and art fundraiser held in the Carriage House of the Kimball-Jenkins Estate.

Attendees mingled, enjoyed beer and wine, and munched on appetizers from The Common Man.

But the highlight of the event was the second annual art auction, emceed by Sarah Chaffee of McGowan Fine Art.

During January and February, local “celebrities,” like Ward 4 City Councilor Amanda Grady-Sexton, Matt Walsh, the assistant for special projects with the city, Doris Ballard, the executive director of ConcordTV, as well as others, put together artwork for the auction.

The Kimball-Jenkins School of Art put the painting hours together, from pictures that the painters brought in or were provided for them.

In the end, nearly $4,000 was raised for Intown Concord from the art auction alone. The funds will be used for future projects and programs the organization offers.
