Even More Screens at The Draft

Restaurant installs 15 new HD televisions.

Boston Red Sox fans who decide to watch Game 1 of the World Series tonight at The Draft are going to be able to watch the game on a slew of new televisions installed recently at the South Main Street eatery.

According to Andy Sanborn, a Republican state Senator from Bedford and co-owner of the bar and restaurant, 15 new 70-inch high definition televisions – some which replaced two large projection TVs  – will bring a better user experience to patrons.

“It’s like Vegas now,” he said. “Every single game is on. It’s the only place in the state of New Hampshire where you can come in on a Sunday and watch, not only every single football game on TV at the same time, but when the Pats are playing, catch them on five or six different TVs, sitting in any seat.”

Sanborn said, more often than not, while customers want to see a specific game, they also want to know what’s going on during the other games, and can do so by reading the closed caption text.

With the new installation, it brings the number of televisions to 52, more than any restaurant or bar in the state, Sanborn believed. He said they’ve always had a lot of televisions but this allows a specific game to be broadcast on a bunch of different sets and be seen all over the restaurant instead of just one location, while still allowing other sets to show other games.

“We have no idea why, but not everyone is a Pats fan,” he said. “This is a place where you can come and see your team, clearly, and catch all the other games at the same time.”

For fantasy football players, this will be a big plus too, he said.

It also allows patrons to watch the Red Sox and other teams play on some of the sets while other games are going on. Earlier this month, the Sox and the Bruins were playing at the same time – and were both broadcast on a slew of big screens.

The television sets are not the only changes at the restaurant. Sanborn said The Draft made some menu changes that feature “hearty dinners, that have been well-received,” and that all are made from scratch.
