Concord’s Dressbarn Reopens at the Steeplegate Mall

Women's boutique will fill more than 7,000 square feet on the Heights next month.

On Oct. 4, Dressbarn will open its new location at the Steeplegate Mall, with a grand opening event held on Oct. 5, that will feature raffle prizes and a Mary Kay consultant to offer makeup and outfit coordination tips.

Formerly located on Fort Eddy Road, the store features “its own line of contemporary casual, career and social fashions in sizes 4-24 plus shoes and accessories,” at 827 stores across the country.

Joe Eaton, the senior general manager of Steeplegate Mall, said in a statement that the mall was looking forward to having the store opened next month.

“We believe our female shopper demographic will be pleased with the addition of this concept, which strengthens Steeplegate Mall’s current lineup of leading women’s apparel and accessory options,” he said.

Dressbarn was established in 1962 in Stamford, Conn., by Roslyn Jaffe, in an effort to fulfill the growing need of professional women’s garments for the workplace. In 1963, a second store was opened and soon, her husband joined her and together, they built the business up into hundreds of stores across the United States.
