VIDEO: Business Leaders Honored

Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce hosts Pinnacle Awards.

Hundreds of residents and business leaders attended the Pinnacle Awards on May 31, honoring business leaders and the organizations themselves that had demonstrated “professional excellence and commitment to the Chamber and the community.”

The was named the Small Business of the Year; , was named Business of the Year; Christopher Brown of New Hampshire Distributors was named Business Leader of the Year; and , was named Nonprofit Business of the Year.

Each person and organization was noted for their commitment to others like Louis Smirnioudis, the owner of the Windmill, who serves homeless individuals and others Thanksgiving dinner at his restaurant. Smirnioudis, who came to the United States from Greece, worked for many years before saving up enough money to open his own restaurant, located on Loudon Road since 1992. Other businesses, like Nathan Wechsler & Company, gave back to the community by having every employee with five years or more with the company serve on a nonprofit board.

Gary Tasker of Tasker Landscaping, who has been with the Chamber for more than 30 years, was awarded the W. Grant McIntosh Volunteer of the Year Award with Tim Sink, president of the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, noting that Tasker had worked tirelessly setting up and breaking down the sponsorship signs for the education golf tournament, for many years.

Mary McLaughlin of and Sink gave out the awards to the recepients.
