The real Councilor Blanchard just stood up; now exit stage left.

The news read tonight, "Ward 1 Councilor Liz Blanchard drops a bomb: I want legal to look into council having a say over school district's budget."

This, I theorize, is what happens when you don't follow the lead of Councilor Blanchard.  Two words come to mind, vindictiveness and dictatorship.

Since the School Board took no position on supporting the Bearcat proposal which was unwisely passed by the City Council, now it appears they are to pay the piper for having the backbone to do their elected duty.

I recently received an email from Councilor Blanchard where she stated in part, ..."That also tells me you don’t trust the 15 members of City Council, including the Mayor to do our job, because ultimately we are responsible for the City Employees. I am offended, because we take great pride in the fact that we hire quality people to run the City of Concord, hence, we don’t need you to micro-manage the Police Department!...."

I am perplexed that Councilor Blanchard thinks the City Council is all wise and knowing but the School Board must be elected ignoramuses as they need to have their budget all of a sudden under the scrutiny of the City Council.

This sounds to me like payback time for not doing what Liz and her cronies wanted.  How dare I say these things?  I say them because I am not under the control of Councilor Blanchard and she is not a dictator, although it appears may have a hidden desire to be one.

The School Board did the right thing by not succumbing to the request or pressure of the Mayor for the Bearcat support.  But it appears now they may have to fight to keep control from those they offended.

At least with Liz Blanchard not running for her seat again, maybe we have a chance at an independent thinker who actually has the City's best interests at heart, not, in my opinion, a pecksniffian "Commish".
