Czarkowski for City Council
Today I filed to run for the open Ward 1 City Council seat in Concord. Some of you may remember me from the close election in 2011. In 2011 I ran for City Council because I was tired of seeing uncontested elections year after year. I felt it was time the residents of Penacook had a choice and they responded positively. I ran against a longtime incumbent and only lost by 17 votes.
In 2013 I am running because I feel I am ready to represent Penacook on City Council. Over the past 2 years I have attended City Council meetings and joined a great organization, the Penacook Village Association(PVA). My only agenda running for City Council is to try to make Penacook a better place to live while at the same time not overburdening the taxpayers.
In 2011 the two comments I heard the most from residents was they wanted a breakfast restaurant and a grocery store. Thanks to Dave and Deb Newell we now have a breakfast restaurant in Penacook the Newell Post, but still no grocery store. I think a grocery store is the one piece that is missing in the Penacook area and as Penacook’s City Councilor would advocate for the development of one.
