It's ridiculous how many put their children in harms way. It would be safer for the innocentRead More children if they child was actually removed from their parent's "so-called" care and make them REALLY pay for their choices in actual jail time. Unfortunately reality kicks in and NOTHING happens to these unfit parents and the child is the one who suffers!!

I have a friend who's a cop and he works at night. He told me of a story a few months ago about aRead More young lady that was in the bathroom of Dunkin Donuts with her infant, and she was nodded out with a needle in her arm. Wow...that sucks!!!

@Tony Schinella, Here is a good story for you to look into. I have called the City of Concord forRead More trees in my neighborhood that are on City Property (between the Sidewalk and the Street) that have dead or downed limbs and I have been told (more than once) that these City Owned Trees are now the responsibility of the people who own the house nearest to them. How can this be? Did they pass some new ordinance within the City that we the Taxpayers weren't notified about?

I know this has nothing to do with THIS accident, but I drive up north about 4 to 5 days a week toRead More the White Mountains. I can't believe all the accidents I've seen due to people going crazy with their driving. It seems worse since they raised the limit to 70 MPH after exit 18. And coming back to Concord...dam, nobody slows down at the 55 MPH area. They just keep going 70, 80, 90, what ever! Hey, I wanna get home too, but I don't wanna get a ticket. Insurance is high enough.

@tyler I would say they probably need local news stories to keep people reading and fill space, soRead More there isn't always alot going on to write about, then if there isn't new stuff posted people will complain, just like they complain about the trending now story's being from other places. Idk for sure but thats my guess. Tony could chime in and probably tell us better. But I do agree this particular story should have stayed out of the public eye only gonna make this harder for the kid involved to finish what im guessing is his senior year. Supposed to be the best year of his life . you'd think people would be sympathetic to that, but we live in a cold world now a days. Sad but true
Tony Schinella (Editor) April 10, 2014 at 07:06 pm
These posts, in the business, called "pullout" or “breakout” stories/posts.Read More They are a quick and easy way of generating more separate stories from a single source, in this case, the police department arrest reports. I've been doing them since 2000 when I first started working full-time for a weekly newspaper in Massachusetts and journalists have been putting together similar stories for decades before that, even before the Internet. When I first started in this business, I was producing the same amount of content in a week I now produce in half a day, so you can understand the challenge of trying to keep up with audience demand. It’s never sourced more than the police or court reports. As for the publication of arrests, we post every one we receive at Patch and made that commitment when we first started three years ago. We also have a simple process to have the information removed from the web too. This incident, as trivial as it may seem, would have been published either way. It’s a good lesson for anyone else that might allegedly act in such a way. Behave yourself and your name won’t go up on the Patch. It’s that simple. Not every story or post that journalists produce are home runs but after nearly three years of running this site, tracking our audience, how they react to stories, etc., I have a rough idea of what people are interested in reading (this story, like most of our pullout stories with mugshots and breaking news alerts, was read by a lot of people). I do, however, appreciate that a few of you have reached out to me or posted respectful notes online sharing your thoughts about the post.

Okay, I understand where a lot of you are coming from. Me being a senior at Merrimack Valley HighRead More School and knowing Dillan for many years, I can say that his judgement was clouded. Yes, the police report is not accurate. However, the job of the press is to inform the public. I don't appreciate people of the older generation saying "teenagers don't think before their actions". That is an unfair statement. I am 18, and fully supporting myself and making life decisions everyday, but by most I'm not looked at as an adult. Dillan works over 40 hours a week and is still going to High School. To me, that makes him an adult. Unfortunately, he made a poor decision and yes there are consequences, but that doesn't mean you need to judge him negatively because of one incident. Tony simply reported to the public what he received from his source. You can imagine running this website takes a lot of time. I don't think he has much time to chase around High School Seniors to ask about their relationship situation. I agree, I don't think this should have been posted, but I understand why it was. Personally, I don't think it's fair that because one "teenager" made a poor decision that everyone of that age is grouped together. I know quite a few people that are way older than I am and I look at them as if they were a child based on the way they act. Unless you were perfect when you were our age, you don't have the right to judge us now. There are a lot of us who are more mature than most people you consider adults.

Even if pornography was found at the crime scene, the crime scene belonged to the victims. I don'tRead More see the connection between pornography being found at the crime scene, and posession of porn by a person sought for questioning. He may have lived there at the time. Still not equating that to posession. Also, the explosion was reported to have blown the house two feet off of the foundation. What kind of super-porn survives this?!

Hard Drives. Once they find him the truth will be had.
jpf2361 April 16, 2014 at 08:57 am
Ryan, Obviously you are confused. You don't have to be physically in possession of something to beRead More charged with possession. For instance you are driving a car and they find drugs in the trunk. Since the car is under your control the cops can, and often do, charge YOU with possession. Also if they search YOUR personal computer and they find pornography then you will be charged with possession. With regard to your "Super-Porn" comment have you ever heard of Zip Drives or memory sticks, etc...

I know Wendy as I use to work with her years ago. I don't think she is a loser as someone else hadRead More posted on here. But she clearly doesn't get the concept that you cant steal things. I know her past isn't the best when it comes to criminal activity either. I find it hard to believe that after spending time already behind bars she continues to steal and break laws. Maybe she has an addiction and that is the real reason behind all this theft. I pray that she will smarten up as I know she has kids and grandkids that I am sure would like for her to stay out of trouble!!
