Getting Ready for Black Ice Hockey in Concord

All kinds of fun things going on this weekend at White Park.

1883 Black Ice Hockey returns to Concord this weekend. Due to the cold weather, there shouldn't be any problems like last year. For all the details, click this link. Here's a rundown of events: 

Friday

  • Ice Sculpture 1 p.m.
  • Concord High Men’s Hockey Practice on the White Park Rink 3 p.m.
  • Bonfire at 4 p.m.
  • Dusty Gray Band 5 p.m.
  • Concord Youth Hockey Mite Program (5-7 year olds) on the Rink at White Park
  • Fireworks at 7 p.m.
Saturday
  • Hockey from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Bonfire at 3 p.m.
  • Concord Youth Hockey Games on the White Park Rink
Sunday
  • Hockey - Semi Finals and Finals 8 a.m. to noon.
This morning, the city closed down White Street from Washington Street to just south of Blanchard Street. Those streets will be closed through Jan. 27. 
During the tournament, White Park Pond and the hockey rink will be closed to the general public. However, the Concord Parks & Recreation Department said that the skating areas at the Beaver Meadow Golf Course and Rollins Park will be accessible and open to everyone.
