  • Mix weather week? Looks like it. Here is a quick overview of this week’s weather from the National Weather Service. Showers are possible this morning but sun will return in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 50s. Overnight Monday, expect temps in the 30s. On Tuesday, sunny skies, but temps in the high 30s. Similar weather is expected on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. There could be snow or freezing rain this weekend though. 
  • Food for Thought. The League of Women Voters of New Hampshire will hold a forum with farmers and the state agriculture commissioner about a number of food topics including regulations, GMOs, etc., at 1 p.m. on Monday at Horseshoe Pond Place. 
  • Help with the ACA. The Concord Public Library will be hosting a health insurance marketplace session at 6:30 p.m. on Monday in the auditorium.
  • James Whitfield Thomson. “Lies You Wanted to Hear” is the name of the first book by Thomson and he’ll be at Gibson’s Bookstore at 7 p.m. on Monday to talk about it.  
  • Storytime. Gibson’s Bookstore hosts a storytime for the little ones at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
  • Bob Larsen. McGowan Fine Art’s latest show features new watercolors by Larsen through Dec. 20. The show opens at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. The artist’s reception is 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 22. 
  • Tuesdays with Tony. Between 4 and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, I’ll be holding office hours at The Draft on South Main Street. Stop by, say “hi,” chat about Patch with me.
  • The Anonymous People. Red River Theatres presents this documentary film focused on the plight of those with long-term alcohol and drug addiction problems at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
  • Epsom Net-Work$ November Meeting. From 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, the Net-Work$ of Epsom marketing group will be meeting at the Circle 9 Ranch in Epsom. I’ll be the guest speaker this month, talking about Patch and using local media to your advantage. 
  • Responsible Retirement of the Merrimack Station. Citizens for Clean and Fair Power will host a talk about the Bow power station at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Unitarian Universalist Church
  • David Weisner. The children’s book illustrator and author will be at Gibson’s Bookstore at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
  • More Help with the ACA. The State Employee’s Association of New Hampshire is holding an Affordable Care Act enrollment fair from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the SEA NH Headquarters, 207 N. Main St. 
  • Langley Parkway Phase 3? A public hearing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Concord City Council Chambers to discuss the third leg of the potential Langley Parkway/Northwest Bypass project.
  • Cold Weather Shelter. The First Congregational Church will soon be opening its cold weather shelter again and the church is hosting an informational meeting for concerned citizens and potential volunteers at 6 p.m. on Thursday. 
  • Distiller’s Showcase. The NH Liquor Commission hosts the “largest spirits event in New England” at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, featuring more than 300 spirits poured.
  • Pilates Class. Concord Pilates will be holding a pelvic floor class at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. 
  • Healthy Eating. 8 Limbs Holistic Health offers a healthy eating workshop at 6 p.m. on Friday. 
  • It Had to be Done, So I did It. The New Hampshire Telephone Museum in Warner offers a talk on the history of women and work, 1900-1980, derived from interviews of Warner women in the early 1980s at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
  • Spamalot. The Community Players of Concord present “Spamalot” this weekend with a first showing at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Concord City Auditorium. Bring a can of Spam, which will be donated to the United Church of Penacook’s Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry.
