Rundlett Yard Sale to Fund Ready to Learn Fair

Teachers hope to kick-start learning in August; need help raising money, assistance.

Three Rundlett Middle School teachers are starting a new program that hopes to improve the lives of students returning to school at the end of the summer.

The program is called Ready to Learn and the teachers hope it wil prepare students attending the school for the new year by offering services such as haircuts, health services, basic toiletries, school supplies, and a back-to-school outfit.

The fair date is scheduled for Aug. 20, at Rundlett.

The teachers – Lynn Reyes, Nicole Newman, and Caroline Keane – are asking for the community’s help with the endeavor.

One of the events planned for fundraising a yard sale that will be held at the middle school from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10. Any money raised will go entirely to the fair.

The organizers are looking for donations for the yard sale that can either be picked up or dropped off. Any items at the yard sale not sold will be donated to Goodwill.

The three are also soliciting donations from businesses and community organizations in the city, to help offset the costs of the fair.
