Report: Reardon Allegedly Manipulated Unemployment System for Daughter

Co-workers file complaint claiming she violated anti-nepotism, ethics rules.

The Nashua Telegraph is reporting that , the commissioner for Employment Security and a member, had her daughter hired for a summer job and then ordered a state employee to have her laid-off instead of released from the job so that the daughter could collect benefits.

According to the report, two agency employees charged Reardon with violation of the anti-nepotism law and ethics rules.

According to the report, a deputy commissioner, Darrell Gates, also had a daughter hired two years before and reportedly told an underling to layoff his daughter in the same manner.

The employment security employee reportedly testified before a grand jury. The reportedly told an executive councilor that Reardon has agreed to resign at the end of the month. She was hired under a five-year term that would have run through 2014.
