Report: Reardon Allegedly Manipulated Unemployment System for Daughter

Co-workers file complaint claiming she violated anti-nepotism, ethics rules.

The Nashua Telegraph is reporting that , the commissioner for Employment Security and a member, had her daughter hired for a summer job and then ordered a state employee to have her laid-off instead of released from the job so that the daughter could collect benefits.

According to the report, two agency employees charged Reardon with violation of the anti-nepotism law and ethics rules.

According to the report, a deputy commissioner, Darrell Gates, also had a daughter hired two years before and reportedly told an underling to layoff his daughter in the same manner.

The employment security employee reportedly testified before a grand jury. The reportedly told an executive councilor that Reardon has agreed to resign at the end of the month. She was hired under a five-year term that would have run through 2014.

Gov. and the Executive Council are expected to examine the issue today.

These don't appear to be the actions of an honest person.

What is the big deal it is done all the time. I guess this is worse than obama running guns huh? How about him retiring at the end of the month. He was only hired for 4 years anyhow.

Darrell Gates has worked for Employment Security for nearly thirty years and the employees that care about the agency and are standing behind him and Tara, which happens to be most of us! We will not back down to this vendictive attack. We know the truth!

NhES treats people like crap. The reason the state unemployment is so low is most don't want to deal with the thugs that have run it. Lets hope new management turns this agency into one that actually helps people in need, not harass them.
