POLL: Should Obama Apologize to NH Catholics?

NH House Speaker William O'Brien thinks so.

Weather permitting, President Obama is expected to fly into New Hampshire shortly after noon today for an appearance in Nashua. And while many are excited by his visit, there are those who are less enthused.

Among them are House Republican leaders. In a statement issued Wednesday, House Speaker William O'Brien, R-Mont Vernon, said Obama needs to apologize to New Hampshire Catholics for his administration's contraception mandate.

O'Brien is supporting a resolution calling for the rescinding of the policy, according to the Union Leader, in addition to a bill that would allow employers to refuse to pay for contraception coverage on the grounds of a religious objection.

What do you think? Should the President apologize to New Hampshire Catholics for his contraception mandate? Vote in our poll below, and leave a comment with your thoughts.

I have never understood why the Christian Conservatives who claim to be so devout, and even want a Christian theocracy, utterly reject Jesus as a philosopher. On more than one occasion when a Christian Conservative lectured me on how they thought the US is a ‘Christian nation’, I asked them ‘so can i assume you support Jesus’s teachings about helping the poor, feeding the hungry and aiding the sick’? In every instance the Christians responsse to my comment was profanity, and one even threatened me with violence. It is interestung how atheists, agnostics and non-Christians seem to have a much greater understanding and respect for what Jesus actually preached, than what the Right Wing Christians insist he preached. Followers of Jesus SHOULD put helping the poor and the needly at the forefront of their beliefs- Those who turn thier backs on the poor and suffering are NOT followers of jesus Christ.

Wow, you are both correct on a few pounts but for all the same wrong " heart on the sleeve"liberal reasons.. which of course makes you just as bad as the conservative Christians you attempt to vilefy
David Campbell March 19, 2012 at 05:18 PM
Two words.. BS. It is amazing you expect thinking people to believe you nonsical ramblings.. but then again i guess not considering the sheeple that are in the world today
David Campbell March 19, 2012 at 05:19 PM
The key in your post ( the one you are apparently top blind to see) is there is indeed a separation between Jewish law and the ten commandants. You are correct about the amount of laws, The thing is..are you an Israelite?. No..and neither is the modern Jew. If you had any understanding of scripture you would understand why those laws were put into place. You would acknowledge that, they were placed there in preparation of the coming Christ, thus you would understand why most of them are ritualistic in nature and have no modern validity to the believer in Christ, be they Jew or Gentile

Like Viagra? Get a signed and authorized letter from your wife that you can't perform... then have all the appropriate tests... I think you should have to watch something too - then have to wait 24 hours. Then be told forced-government-issued lies by your doctor. And we'll need to hold meetings of all-women panels to discuss the "need" vs "want"... after all men can't make these decisions, they just aren't capable.

@ David C The Shill says: "Those who turn thier backs on the poor and suffering are NOT followers of jesus Christ." David C says: "BS" Says it all.

Your idea of discourse? This board is diseased by Republican simpletons. Imbeciles who can't stay on topic, can't answer questions, can't debate. Hordes of people who are incapable of abstract thought. If we were to do away with the Electoral College, it would easily be 100 years before a Republican lived in the White House.
Paul Mercury March 20, 2012 at 03:56 AM
You're right, Shill. Rethugs think sending jobs to Communist China is patriotic.
Paul Mercury March 20, 2012 at 04:00 AM
@ Carole "Your Obama "Death Panels" would tend to the matter." Carole, if you believe the "death panels" lie, you're as smart as Sarah Palin (not a compliment). We both know you don't believe it - you just have no problem regurgitating lies. Which would you say is worse - being stupid, or deceitful?

@ LJoel Ha ha ha! Is anything more satisfying than the "This Comment Has Been Deleted" post? Imagine the moment of recognition when they realize they should have actually READ what they were posting for us to read. Disgraceful.
Paul Mercury March 20, 2012 at 04:16 AM
@ Tonto Can you please post another link you haven't read or don't understand that you'll remove later - especially one that shows the hateful, ignorant GOP voters for what they are? That Huffington one was a HOOT!

Tonto.Just reposting other liberal posts of yours. I love the part about Obama reducing our oil imports. The rest of the video was not flattering to republicans either. Again thanks for not having a clue about what you are posting . http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/13/mitt-romney-planned-parenthood_n_1343450.html?ref=mostpopular http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/14/arizona-birth-control-bill-contraception-medical-reasons_n_1344557.html?ref=mostpopular

Bristol awaits Obama to comfort her like he did fluke ( and yeah that is all she is a fluke ) http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/03/20/bristol-awaits-obamas-call-shoulder/?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl1|sec3_lnk2%26pLid%3D145202 good luck honey, there is no political motivation for him to do so therefore it ain't happening
ForThePeople March 21, 2012 at 02:09 AM
Actually, I pointed out what a buffoon he was using actual facts (you wouldn't know what those are, but think of them like evidence of the truth), which wasn't that hard to do. George Bush was a puppet of very rich, powerful people. He was designed to appeal to the Everyman. It's what MTV used to do for pop stars. He wasn't qualified to lead a country. I know this is hard for you, but when I talk about bigotry and discrimination, that's different than lampooning someone over their political debacles. Did you even look at those articles? They were about portraying Obama as a Muslim and calling him the "N" word, which is nothing less than playing upon people's fears and prejudices. That's different than, let's say, George Bush's "fool me once" quote or any other Bushism. I know you don't want to see it, you're going to try as hard as you can to bury your head in the sand, but there is a very real problem on the right-wing with bigotry and discrimination. A lot of the Obama hatred is based around it. Most people don't actually follow politics and what people are doing. They just don't. They are insulated in their own lives, and they listen to the people around them for how to feel about something instead of doing their own thinking- doing their own research. Many people will not vote for Obama purely because he is black, and they think he is a Muslim, both of which would be prejudicial.
ForThePeople March 21, 2012 at 02:18 AM
http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/08/obama-embraces-bill-maher-but-alabama-democrats-hide-link/ Is that so? Obama has called for civility, but no he does not give personal phone calls for every event. The reason why this even gets as much play as it does is because the very folks wanting him to return the money are solely interested in him losing the presidency, they're not really that offended that he has the money. If that was the case, any donations from Rush Limbaugh and the free media from Fox news should also be immediately stopped. But that's not happening, right? Listen, we all know you are disingenuous, we all know your entire party is insincere, but let's not pretend that Obama somehow enjoys inappropriate comments about women. How about saving a little bit of that outrage for your own party? I thought not.
Paul Mercury March 22, 2012 at 03:50 AM
@ "Truth" No link, no cred. Besides, you don't really want to get into polls, do you? I can give you a ton that say Willard is in for a beatdown.
Paul Mercury March 22, 2012 at 03:51 AM
@ David C There's a big difference (and you know it). Bristol is a reality TV actress who makes extra cash on the side telling teens to not do what she did. Sandra Fluke is a college student who appeared by request before Congress to testify on health insurance.
jrmetalman March 25, 2012 at 01:01 AM
Many buffoons like yourself voted for Obama simply because he was black! To say George Bush wasn't qualified to lead a country is nonsense. Obama the Inheritor in chief has yet to lead on anything good!!! Solyndra was said by him to be the business model to re-ignite economic growth and create high paying jobs for middle class Americans. That type of thinking is why our economy sucks!!!
Paul Mercury April 04, 2012 at 03:35 AM
@ Jr. "Many buffoons like yourself voted for Obama simply because he was black!" I'd bet dollars to donuts many dingbats like you voted for McCain because he wasn't. "Obama the Inheritor in chief" WTF?? President Obama was ELECTED by the American people in a landslide. Your fake cowboy - the one that ran the country into a ditch - was appointed by the hacks on the SCOTUS. "Solyndra was said by him to be the business model to re-ignite economic growth..." Still trying to squeeze the last bit out of the Solyndra tube, huh? It went bankrupt. Companies sometimes do that. Our economy is getting better all the time. The stock market has passed 13,000. Unemployment is down. Consumer confidence is up. If you cared more about your country than you do your Republican identity you'd be happy about it.
