Webster Cousins Arrested on Drug, Other Charges

Concord Police alleged that one OD'd on heroin and the other falsified evidence.

CONCORD, NH — Two Webster men are facing charges after an incident last month involving an afternoon drug overdose outside of Lincoln Financial in West Concord. Isaac Durgin, 29, pictured left, of Webster, was arrested at 2:27 p.m. on June 4, 2014, and charged with possession of controlled drugs and falsifying physical evidence, both felonies. Michael W. Durgin, 34, of Webster, was arrested at 9:10 p.m. on June 14, and charged with possession of controlled drugs, a felony, and default or breach of bail conditions.

According to police arrest reports and a court affidavit, officers were called to back lot of 1 Granite Place for a person who was unconscious by an SUV.

The first officer arrived at the scene and found a man, later identified as Michael Durgin, on the ground by the driver’s side door. The officer stated that his face and lips “were purple in color and he was unresponsive.”

The first officer reportedly spoke to Isaac Durgin, who informed him that they were cousins and he had just taken the bus back from Manchester and they were waiting for Michael Durgin’s girlfriend to get out of work. Isaac Durgin had allegedly fallen asleep and when he woke up, Michael Durgin was out.

“He found Michael Durgin in the driver’s seat unresponsive with a bag of heroin and syringes in his lap,” the officer reported.

Isaac Durgin allegedly splashed water on Michael Durgin’s face and slapped him a few times, trying to wake him up, but he was still unresponsive. The previous evening, he had allegedly overdosed and they were able to revived him with a cold shower, according to the report. Isaac Durgin allegedly told the officer that he “panicked,” took the heroin and syringes out of the SUV, and threw them into the woods. The drugs and syringes were later recovered from the woods, according to the officer.

Isaac Durgin was arrested and held without bail. He was arraigned on June 5.

Michael Durgin was treated by fire and rescue teams at the scene. He was later arrested on a warrant by Webster Police. A Concord officer picked him up during a prisoner exchange on Black Water Road. He’s due in court on July 14.

Both Michael Durgin and Isaac Durgin have previous arrest histories.

Isaac Durgin was arrested in January after allegedly on a breach of bail charge and receiving stolen property in Chichester in December 2013.

Michael Durgin was arrested in December 2013 and charged with misuse or failure to display plates, traffic light, disobeying an officer, resisting arrests or detention, possession of controlled drugs, a felony, possession of drugs, a felony, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, and driving after revocation or suspension and theft by unauthorized taking, a felony, due to two previous convictions, and two bench warrants, one a felony. He was arrested by state police in Bedford in October 2013 on a drug charge. In September 2013, he was arrested after allegedly striking a woman with his car and was charged with charged with driving after revocation or suspension, a bench warrant, and another warrant.
