VIDEO: Concord Police Chief Comments on Racist Graffiti Incident

Duval: Targeting new citizens "won't be tolerated."

Chief followed up with Concord NH Patch on Aug. 7, concerning a that was written on the front entrance of a Thompson Street home over the weekend.

Duval said police don’t know if the case is related to , but said, “definitely the messaging … the style in which the message was delivered and the manner it was delivered ... there are certain similarities.”

The other cases are still open, he noted.

The Concord Police Department has been , including Thompson Street, in recent months. Duval said he hoped that new relationships built by officers in that area would foster some leads in the graffiti cases.

Duval also wanted residents to know that they could report anonymous tips to the Concord Regional Crimeline about this or any other open case, and people could receive rewards of up to $1,000.

“The fact that we have new citizens in this community that have been targeted because of their race … that type of crime as with any other crime, is not going to be tolerated,” he said. “But certainly, when our citizens are being targeted because of their ethic background and their race, makes this particularly a heinous crime. We’re seeking the public’s assistance in trying to solve this.”
