U.S. Marshals Looking for Boden

Manhunt in Concord leaves landscaping company in need of a new truck driver.

U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement agencies spent a good part of their day on Friday looking for Richard Boden, an area resident reportedly wanted for a parole violation.

According to scanner chatter on April 11, marshals were tracking Boden on Sheep Davis Road while he was driving a truck for his employer, The Dirt Doctors of Pembroke. Seeing the marshals, Boden reportedly entered the Shell gas station at the intersection of Sheep Davis Road and Pembroke Road, and ran out a back exit in order to elude them.

At around 1 p.m., Concord Police and New Hampshire State Police were called to the scene to assist as Boden allegedly ran down an embankment, along North Pembroke Road, and back into Pembroke.

Concord officers participating in live fire exercises in the area were asked to stop as officials scoured the area looking Boden.

About an hour later, as officers were traipsing around the muddy banks of the Soucook River looking for Boden, the state police K9 unit was called in to assist.

Over the scanner, an officer reported that Boden had allegedly called his mother from the woods and reportedly insinuated that he planned on hiding out until dark, assuming police would eventually end their search.

Officers were seen all along Route 106, including the Smokey Bear Boulevard state complex and where the Soucook River intersected with Sheep Davis Road.

According to Jeffrey White of the U.S. Marshals, law enforcement officials were unable to find Boden and he is still at-large.

Need a job as a truck driver?

The entire situation with Boden caught Keith Anastasy, the owner of The Dirt Doctors, completely off-guard on Friday.

Boden, according to Anastasy, had been working for the company for about three months and was considered a “good driver.” He said he knew Boden was on parole, trying to turn his life around, when the company hired him.

“He’s been terminated,” Anastasy said on Friday afternoon.

Anatasy said the incident left the company, which offers landscaping supplies and services at wholesale prices to the public, in a lurch since they had a full day of deliveries that needed to go out before the weekend. One of The Dirt Doctors’ trucks was left at the scene as Boden allegedly fled from marshals, he said.

Anatasy said he now had an opening for a truck driver with a CDL and anyone interested in applying could reach him at 603-229-3200.
