Teen Busted for Drugs on I-93

Police made the arrest following a motor vehicle stop on Saturday.

A Vermont teenager was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 93 over the weekend.

At 4:17 p.m. on Saturday, New Hampshire State Trooper Daniel Livingstone stopped a vehicle on I-93 in Hooksett for a traffic violation. Based on his observations of the driver and two occupants, Livingstone determined that they were overly nervous about something.

After speaking to the driver, he consented to a search of the vehicle, which yielded three pounds of green vegetative matter believed to be marijuana, a digital scale, as well as a quantity of another substance believed to be hashish.

The driver, Derek Stone, 18, of Georgia, VT was arrested for possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute. He refused the services of a bail commissioner and was transported to the Merrimack Country House of Corrections. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Concord District Court on Monday morning.
