Teen Breakup Leads to Vandalism Charge

Concord Police: Dillan Dumont of Penacook allegedly damaged vehicle.

A local teen is in due in court next week after a run-in with his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend near Merrimack Valley High School.

Dillan Dumont, 18, of Penacook, was arrested at 3:44 p.m. on March 7, on a criminal mischief (vandalism) charge.

At around 2 p.m., an officer was called to a domestic disturbance on Webster Place for a report of a couple that alleged that an ex-boyfriend had allegedly followed them home and when the woman wouldn’t get out of the car, damaged a Toyota Corolla, made suicidal comments, and then left.

The male teen said that the two had left Merrimack Valley High School during a free period and were heading to Warner to get his paycheck at a local fast food restaurant. They passed by Dumont who was driving a Toyota Prius and reportedly honked his horn. The Prius followed them until they stopped, parked their car, and locked all the car doors, so Dumont couldn’t get in.

Dumont allegedly came up to the vehicle and “started yelling and struck the passenger side window with his hand or elbow,” the officer alleged. He struck the car with such force that the other teem was “surprised it didn’t break.” He allegedly later “struck the hood” of the car and left a large dent. Later, he allegedly jumped on the hood and dented it again.

“He then put his fingers up to his temple area and told (the teen) that he was going to shoot himself in the head,” the officer reported, “(and) then he left.”

The officer spoke to the female who confirmed that Dumont was his ex and they had broken up the day before, after about a year of dating. She confirmed the testimony of her new boyfriend but denied that Dumont had threatened her in any way outside of the vandalism incident.

Officers went to Elm Street to speak to Dumont but he wasn’t home. When they went to leave, they ran into his stepmother who had just arrived home. She said that he was eating lunch with his father but would be home later.

Officers returned to the home about 30 minutes later to speak with Dumont who allegedly told the officers that he was trying to return an item to her and passed them on Village Street. Later, after talking more with the officers, he was arrested.

Dumont is due in court on April 21.
