Teen Allegedly Assaults Father at Bus Station

Jasmine Curtis, 17, held on cash bail after August arrest; was previously arrested on assault, alcohol charges at Concord High School.

A local teen was arrested last month for allegedly assaulting her father during an argument about her dating an older man from Massachusetts.

Jasmine Y. Curtis, 17, of Concord, was arrested at 11:40 a.m. on Aug. 17, and charged with simple assault (personal weapons) and default or breach of bail conditions.

According to arrest and court documents, officers were called to the Concord Coach Bus station on Stickney Avenue for a report of a civil issue between a father, his daughter, and her boyfriend, that had erupted into a fight.

The father reported to officers that his daughter was seeing a man from Massachusetts who was 26. The father met the man at the bus station to tell him to leave his daughter alone.

While talking with the Massachusetts man, his daughter showed up. The father and daughter started arguing. When the father threatened to call police, the old boyfriend walked away and Curtis allegedly slapped her father, according to the report.

“I observed (that the father) had dried blood under this nose and a scratch on the right side of his face near his ear,” the officer alleged.

The officers spoke with the daughter and she alleged that her father hit her above the ear with his forearm first.

“Jasmine stated after he hit her she attacked him,” the officer reported.

However, an employee at the station who reportedly witnessed the altercation backed up the father’s claims, noting that Jasmine allegedly hit her father over the head with a purse a few times.

The employee told them all to leave and Jasmine allegedly threatened to slap him and told him to “go to hell.” The father, the employee alleged, was bleeding from the nose, according to the report.

Jasmine Curtis was arrested and held on $8,000 cash bail. She was arraigned on Aug. 17.

Curtis was arrested in April for allegedly fighting with her father and was arrested in May after an altercation with Concord High School staffers and police.
