Sutton Man Arrested After DUI, Crashes on Route 106

Damian Biron bagged after allegedly hitting a state trooper at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The New Hampshire State Police have arrested a local man with a previous driving arrest after a crash on Route 106 in Loudon last night.

Damian Biron, 21, of North Sutton, was charged with two counts of felony reckless conduct, two counts of disobeying an officer, two counts of criminal threatening, three counts of simple assault, and driving under the influence.

According to a press statement, at around 6:15 p.m. on July 13, a trooper directing traffic inside the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon at the end of the race attempted to stop a Chevrolet Silverado for an infraction. The driver, Biron, allegedly ignored the trooper and steered into her space and into another trooper. That trooper tried to stop Biron but he allegedly pulled up to the trooper and struck him with the truck’s front grill.

“(The) trooper attempted to move to his left however Biron’s vehicle steered in the same direction and struck (the trooper) a second time,” according to a report by Lt. Gregory Ferry. “After making contact a third time, Biron sped away and struck a vehicle causing minor damage.”

The trooper was not injured, according to the report.

Biron allegedly failed to stop and drove southbound on Route 106 “at a high rate of speed for the given traffic congestion,” and then, about a mile from the track, allegedly struck a black Chevrolet Silverado. The truck, owned by a Nottingham man, was pushed about 20 feet off the road, sustaining heavy damage, according to police.

“Following the crash, Biron attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was taken into custody a short distance later,” Ferry noted.

Biron was transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections and refused bail.

The passengers in Biron’s vehicle was transported to Concord Hospital and treated.

New Hampshire State Police are looking for information about the crash. If you saw what happened, contact Trooper Douglas A. Schack of the New Hampshire State Police Troop D at 603-223-8955 or email him at douglas.schack@dos.nh.gov.

This isn’t Biron’s only run-in with state police. Back in April, he was arrested and charged with reckless operation, disobeying a police officer and possession of a controlled drug.
