Stolen Chevy from Boscawen Lands Plymouth Man in Jail

Shaun Michael Cook is being charged with driving charges and warrants.

Submitted by the New Hampshire State Police: 

At approximately 0800 hours on 4-14-14, the Boscawen, NH Police Department investigated the complaint of a stolen motor vehicle from Queen St. in their locality, described as a green 1996 Chevrolet Blazer.

At approximately 0818 hours, Sgt. Ronal Taylor of the NH State Police, Troop D and a Franklin Officer observed the stolen vehicle northbound on Route 3, near Route 127 in Franklin and attempted to stop it. The vehicle was operated by an unidentified lone male occupant. The driver would not stop for police and increased its speed in an attempt to elude apprehension. Officers pursued the vehicle northbound on Route 3A through Hill in coordination with other Troops and local agencies.

At approximately 0829 hours, officers from the Bristol Police Department successfully deployed a tire deflation device that caused the two front tires of the suspect vehicle to slowly deflate, and successfully brought the pursuit safely to an end within a half mile thereafter.

The driver was identified to be Shaun Michael Cook, age 36; a homeless man from the Plymouth, NH area. He was arrested and taken into custody.

The Investigation revealed Cook was wanted on a felony parole violation with no bail and multiple misdemeanor warrants from the Plymouth Police Department.  Additionally, his privilege to drive in NH was found to be suspended.  Cook was transported to the Franklin Police Department where he was processed and refused bail on the following charges:

  • Felony Receiving Stolen Property
  • Felony Reckless Conduct
  • Felony Parole Violation Warrant
  • Misdemeanor Disobeying a Police Officer
  • Violation Driving After Suspension
  • Misdemeanor False Imprisonment Warrant
  • Misdemeanor Criminal Threatening Warrant
  • Misdemeanor Simple Assault Warrant   

He was subsequently transported to the Merrimack County Jail without bail where he will be held pending arraignment.
