POLICE LOG: Concord Man Arrested for Allegedly Spitting at His Ex

The following information was supplied by the Concord Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Editor’s Note: Due to more extensive narratives in the Concord Police arrest reports, it’s taking a little be longer to transcribe entries and that is why the report dates vary so widely.

  • Katina Ann Harris, 40, of Manchester, 3 p.m. on Jan. 7, and charged with theft of services, a felony, theft of utility services, no tampering with water works, measuring of water, and possession of prescription drugs without a prescription. The charges are based on incidents on Jan. 1, 2010, June 2, 2010, and Dec. 29, 2010. She was arrested on Elmwood Avenue. As evidence, police allegedly took into possession marijuana, a spoon with burn marks, a prescription bottle with steel wool particles, a pill cutter, a pipe, a lock, and other items. Harris was picked up in Manchester and returned to Concord to be booked and processed. Harris was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail and was arraigned on Feb. 11
  • Matthew Baker, 20, of Concord, was arrested at 4:26 p.m. on Jan. 7, on a bench warrant out of Franklin District Court from No. 7, 2012, for failure to appear. He was process without incident and released on $959.03 bail and was arraigned on Feb. 11.
  • Edgar G. Toscano, 40, of Concord, was arrested 6 p.m. on Jan. 7, on a simple assault (personal weapons) charge. Officers were called to Ormond Street for a report of a domestic situation. They were told that a woman was outside in the driveway while the man was in the house. An officer made contact with the caller, the woman, allegedly stated that her boyfriend had offered to fix her car. She was using his car, she reportedly told the officer, and later in the day came back to exchange the cars. Everything seemed fine, at first, but when it was time for her to leave, she alleged the Toscano became upset. The two were outside and he reportedly stated that he wanted to get back together and the two reportedly began to fight. The woman reportedly stated that she didn’t want to get back together and Toscano allegedly began calling her names. The woman reportedly stated that she turned to leave and he allegedly tried to spit in her face. She reported that she moved to avoid the spit but it hit her in the neck and on her jacket. An officer went to speak with Toscano who reportedly stated that he was working on the car but wouldn’t answer repeated questions about the spitting allegation. The officer alleged that Toscano smelled like alcohol. Later, Toscano was arrested. He refused to see a bail commissioner and was arraigned on Jan. 8.
  • Shanna Boucher, 21, of Pembroke, received a summons at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, on a theft charge. An officer was called to Sears on Loudon Road for a report of a shoplifter in custody. The loss prevention officer reported that she had been monitoring Boucher who reportedly picked up items from around the store and headed to the fitting room but later came out without the items. “Her purse appeared to be full,” the employee alleged. The employee checked the fitting room but couldn’t find the items. The employee alleged that Boucher later grabbed another shirt and stuck it in her pocketbook before leaving the store without paying for any items. The officer alleged that Boucher admitted to stealing the items of clothing – a few shirts, one of which she was allegedly wearing – all valued at $204. The employee stated that there was another shirt unaccounted for that was later recovered. Another person who was reportedly with Boucher doing community service at the mall allegedly stated that she didn’t realize Boucher was stealing. The officer reported that the report would be updated after tests came back on “a spoon, pill, and papers” seized during the incident. Boucher was arraigned on Feb. 11.
  • Stephanie Christie Patuleia, 23, of Franklin, was arrested at 3:39 p.m. on Jan. 9, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. An officer was sent to Sears on Loudon Road for a report of a shoplifting in custody by store security. A loss prevention officer stated that she alleged that Patuleia cut a ring free with a knife from a stand in the jewelry department. The ring was worth $99. The employee said she watched Patuleia allegedly leave the store without paying for the ring. The employee stopped Patuleia and requested she come back to the store. Patuleia allegedly handed the employee the ring and came back, but was “mouthy” while returning. Patuleia allegedly wrote a statement admitting to the theft before the officer arrived and he received that report from the employee. Patuleia was later arrested. While being arrested, the officer allegedly found a metal box with a pill grinder, an unknown white pill, Tramodol, a muscle relaxer, that Patuleia allegedly stated she had a prescription for, as well as a straw and folding knife. She was later released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and was arraigned on Feb. 11.
  • Jenny A. Braganca, 31, of Concord, was arrested at 10:16 p.m. on Jan. 10, on bench warrant from Concord District Court on Oct. 30, 2012, for nonpayment of fine, $750, on a driving while intoxicated charge. Braganca was arrested on East Side Drive and later released on $1,000 personal recognizance. Braganca arraigned on Jan. 14.
  • Brad E. Lizotte, 47, of Concord, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 10, on a possession of controlled drugs charge from Oct. 18, 2012, on Rumford Street. Police allege that he was in possession of marijuana. Lizotte reportedly stated that he was not aware of the warrant. Personal recognizance bail was set at $1,000 and he was arraigned on Feb. 11.
  • Sally J. Copp, 53, of Pembroke, received a summons at 5:13 p.m. on Jan. 10, for theft at Target on D’Amante Drive. Police allege that Copp stole canned food, baby clothing, and a camera bag all valued at around $75. An officer was dispatched to the store for an alleged shoplifter at the scene. The employee told the officer that he had seen Copp in the store previously and believed she was stealing items. He followed her around the store as Copp allegedly put items in both a shopping cart and a basket. The employee alleged that when she went to pay for the items, Copp paid for the items in the cart but not in the basket. The employee approached Copp outside the store. Copp was arraigned on Feb. 11. She was also given a no trespass letter.
  • Jeffrey Alan Mayer, 50, of Loudon, was arrested at 1:40 p.m. on Jan. 30, on a theft by unauthorized taking or transfer charge from the Shell Station on Sheep Davis Road, from Dec. 21, 2012. Police allege that Mayer stole a 16-ounce bottle of Tropicana orange juice. Mayer turned himself into police and was later released on personal recognizance bail and was arraigned on March 4.
  • Kiara R. Santorella, 19, of Concord, was arrested at 4 p.m. on Feb. 7, and charged with driving after revocation or suspension and suspended registration (operating-misd). At approximately 3:45 p.m., an officer was traveling north on Airport Road following a vehicle that seemed to be having mechinal issues. The officer checked the vehicle and it was indicated that the registered owner's license was under suspension and the registration for the vehicle was also suspended on Sept. 21, 2012, for failure to pay a fine by the DMV. The vehicle was stopped near Airport Road and Loudon Road. The officer spoke to Santorella and alleged she was acting very strangely and laughing. She allegedly stated that she knew she was not speeding but might be in trouble. Santorella was later arrested and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and was arraigned in court on March 11.
  • George C. Baker III, 46, of Loudon, was arrested at 9:40 p.m. on Feb. 14, on a driving while intoxicated charge. While traveling east on Loudon Road near the Olive Garden Restaurant, an officer reportedly observed a 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup tuck “swaying back in forth in its lane.” The officer continued to follow the vehicle, through the Walmart traffic lights, and alleged that the driver was unable to stay in a single lane. At the Loudon Road intersection with Old Loudon Road, the officer alleged that the truck “swerved to the right crossing over the white dotted line and into the next lane” while forcing another vehicle to stop to avoid an accident. The officer reportedly turned on his blue lights. The truck slowed, the officer wrote, but didn’t stop, and instead, allegedly crossed over two sets of double yellow lines and into the westbound lanes. Eventually, the truck came to a stop in the Pit Road Lounge/Loudon Road Restaurant parking lot. The officer began speaking to the driver, later ID’d as Baker, who allegedly “had trouble locating the license in his wallet.” Baker reportedly told the officer he was heading home after stopping off at KFC. “I could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle,” the officer wrote. “Baker’s speech was slow and slurred. His eyes were glassy.” When asked if he had been drinking, Baker allegedly said he had three beers. Baker was asked to perform a few field sobriety tests and later was arrested. On the drive to booking, the officer alleged that Baker “became mad” and denied he had been driving. He was later released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and had a court date on Feb. 25.
  • Cheyenne K. Burke, 24, of Concord, was arrested at 4:45 p.m. on Feb. 17, on a simple assault (personal weapons) charge from Dec. 22, 2012, at the intersection of North Main and Pleasant streets. Burke was arrested at an apartment on Market Lane. She was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned on March 18.
  • Margaret Carrano, 19, of Concord, a homeless woman now located in Concord, was arrested at 6:39 p.m. on Feb. 19, on a criminal mischief (vandalism) charge. Officers were called to the Holiday Inn at 5:51 p.m. to investigate a past domestic dispute between a married couple. According to the report, Carrano and her husband were about to be evicted from their Rumford Street apartment after eight months of staying there and had secured a room at the hotel with the help of the city for one night. During the process of leaving the apartment and getting to the hotel with their child, an argument ensued and an iPhone, valued at $300, was damaged. Carrano alleged that it was thrown against a heater; her husband alleged that she threw it at his head and hit him. The officer noted “multiple cracks” on the phone that was “no longer usable.” The husband told police that he wanted to care for their child and that he had another son and could handle the situation for the night. Carrano was arrested and “initially became very angry,” the officer alleged. She was later released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on March 25. The next day, the Division of Children and Young Families inquired about what happened between the couple.
  • Khristy Lee Royea, 35, of Concord, was arrested at 5:55 p.m. on Feb. 23, on a warrant out of Milford District Court on a theft charge. She was arrested at the Friends Program on Thompson Street and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail. Royea is due in Milford District Court on March 20.
  • Michael Cole, 47, of Concord, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. on March 3, on three counts of simple assault (personal weapons). Officers were sent to Jennifer Drive for a report of an assault call, reportedly involving a man assaulting a man and two women at the address. When officers arrived, the three alleged victims were inside a BMW parked in the driveway waiting for police to arrive. One of the women reportedly stated that she was out with friends and was driving them home but stopped at her house beforehand. The three entered the home for a moment, one to use the bathroom. Cole came downstairs and reportedly asked the male in the group to leave. Cole alleged that the man refused and the two got into a scuffle. One of the woman reportedly came out of the bathroom and allegedly saw Cole hitting the man in the head while on the dining room floor. Cole later denied hitting the man, allegedly saying that there was only pushing. The other woman alleged that Cole “pushed her to the floor” with an elbow but she was not injured. Cole was arrested and charged and reportedly became upset but officers were able to calm him down before being taken into custody. According to the report, Cole was involved in a criminal mischief and criminal threatening case from 2010. He was later released on $3,000 personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned on April 8.
  • Patrick Christian Zurline, 20, of Concord, was arrested at 2:45 p.m. on March 10, on a receiving stolen property charge from Feb. 21, from the JC Penny at the Steeplegate Mall on Loudon Road. The case allegedly involved a stolen peacoat and a hat both valued at $110. Zurline, who is being held at the Merrimack County House of Correction, was arraigned remotely on March 11.
  • Jonathan Hopkins, 40, a homeless man now located in Concord, received a summons at 4:30 p.m. on March 12, on a disorderly conduct charge. An officer was dispatched to the I-93 southbound ramp at Exit 14 and Loudon Road for a report of a panhandler that kept pushing the button on the crosswalk to get the lights to stop but was not crossing the street. Upon arrival, the officer reportedly saw a man meeting the description of the person and later observed him push the crosswalk button to get the lights to change. The officer spoke with Hopkins and issued him a summons to appear in court on the charge on April 15.
