UPDATED: NH State Police Investigating I-93 North Crash

Tractor-trailer crashes into a Jeep in Manchester.

Here's an update from the state troopers:

On Thursday, April 10, at approximately 12:34 AM Troopers from the NH State Police Troop B Barracks responded to a motor vehicle accident located on Interstate 93 northbound near the exit 6 off ramp involving a tractor-trailer operated by Wesley Basler 56 years old of Richford, Vermont and a 1998 Jeep Wrangler operated by 25 year old Matthew Davis of Plaistow, New Hampshire. The operator of the Jeep was ejected from the vehicle upon impact and thrown into the jersey barrier separating the northbound and southbound lanes of travel.  Trooper Nathan Johnston and a good Samaritan administered first aid to the operator of the Jeep until Manchester Fire and Rescue arrived on scene.

Both operators were transported to the Elliot Hospital, in Manchester, NH by ground ambulance.  The operator of the Jeep sustained serious life-threatening injuries in the crash and is currently in serious, but stable condition.  Speed and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash at this time, however, investigation continues.

Multiple lanes of Interstate 93 northbound were shut down for approximately 4 hours while both vehicles were removed from the scene.
