NH State Police Arrest Two for Drugs on I-93

Two Danbury men charged.

The New Hampshire State Police have arrested two men on various charges after allegedly spotting a car driving erratically on I-93 in Concord.

George M Cavis, 28, and Geoffrey A. McLaughlin, 29, both of Danbury, were arrested after the car was eventually stopped in Hooksett.

Cavis was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and possession of controlled drugs with intent to sell. McLaughlin was charged with possession of controlled drugs with intent to sell.

According to a report from the state police, at around 2 p.m. on Sept. 5, a state trooper received a report of a Toyota Corolla “operating erratically” on I-93 south in Concord. The vehicle was stopped just before the Hooksett tool booth.

Cavis, who was driving the car, agreed to a field sobriety test and was later arrested.

“Further investigation led to the discovery of what is believed to be Heroin, a small amount of Marijuana, bags, scales, needles and more than $1500.00 in cash inside the car and on his person,” Lt. Gregory Ferry from Troop D alleged in a press statement.

Other troopers assisted with the case.

Both Cavis and McLaughlin were released on personal recognizance bail and are due to be arraigned on Sept. 18 in Hooksett District Court.
