Man Faces Numerous Concord Theft Charges

A Manchester man has been charged and arraigned on numerous theft charges, including a felony.

Enrique Barretto, 28, has been arrested three times during the last two months on various charges.

Barretto was arrested at 3:55 p.m. on June 6, and charged with theft, a felony, resisting arrest or detention, and default or breach of bail conditions, at the Sears on Loudon Road. On June 17, he was arrested at the Merrimack County House of Corrections in connection with a May theft from Sears. And, on July 6, he was arrested at jail and charged with stealing a television from Walmart on Loudon Road on Oct. 12, 2012.

According to Concord Police and court affidavits, an officer was called to Sears on June 6, for a report of a female shoplifter in custody and a man who allegedly fled the store with a LG BH6730S home theatre system, valued at $379.

The reporting officer went to the store while others searched for the man, later identified as Barretto. A loss prevention employee reported seeing a man enter the store with an empty shopping cart. The man allegedly selected the system and put it in the cart. The loss prevention employee reportedly recognized the man from a case on May 31, according to the report.

Barretto allegedly walked by several cash registers and exited the store without paying for the system. The employee followed Barretto who at this point was allegedly jogging away from the store while pushing the cart. Later, Barretto dropped the system and sprinted towards Home Depot, on the other side of the mall, the employee alleged.

A woman sitting in an SUV in the parking lot later reportedly told the employee it was Barretto and he was with her. She voluntarily went back to the store with the employee.

Barretto, she reported, was her sister’s boyfriend. The sister, she alleged, told her to bring him to court at 2 p.m., which she did. Later, at 3 p.m., Barretto reportedly asked for a ride to the mall. When they arrived, she said, he allegedly told her to wait in the car, which she did. While talking with the woman, another employee reported seeing Barretto back in the parking lot, allegedly attempting to get into the Hyundai to escape the scene. The SUV though was locked and Barretto reportedly was back in the mall. Later, police caught up to him and arrested him.

Barretto was out on bail from a May 24, arrest, with a June 24 court date.

On June 17, according to another report, Barretto was charged for stealing a Samsung system valued at $249 on May 31.

On July 1, Barretto was charged with criminal liability for conduct of another and two counts of default or breach of bail conditions. According to reports, the charges stem from the theft of a Vizio television at Walmart in 2012. On the date in question, an officer was called to the store around 5:30 p.m. for a report of a man stealing the television. A loss prevention employee showed the officer video footage of the theft and the officer reportedly ID’d Barretto and Kaitlyn Pillsbury, 21, of Manchester, who was arrested by Concord police in May.

“Mr. Barretto had been with Ms. Pillsbury at other Walmarts when he was caught stealing,” the officer alleged in an affidavit.

Pillsbury was also arrested in Amherst in 2012.

Barretto was arraigned remotely on the charge.

Previously, Barretto was convicted of willful concealment in Milford District Court on Dec. 27, 2012, and Hooksett District Court, on Dec. 28, 2012, hence the felony charge in June. He is also facing a willful concealment charge, related to a theft at Target.
