Power Restored in Concord

Outages scattered in the eastern part of the city; trees down in the West End.

UPDATED, 5:20 p.m. The Concord Public Library closed for the evening early due to issues related to power outages. 

UPDATED, 3:13 p.m. Unitil reported on Twitter that the "Majority affected Concord customers back online" with power. Crews working to restore the rest. 

UPDATED, 12:41 p.m. Unitil is reporting that a motor vehicle accident caused the knocked down utility pole at NHTI. A brush fire, the result of the pole being knocked over, has been contained, according to Concord Fire. Tree limbs and wires are entangled in wires and down on the ground in Concord and around the region. Carter Hill Road is currently blocked for a downed tree. Roads in Epsom and Loudon and also reported closed or clocked, as tree limbs and lines are cleared.

High wind gusts during the past hour or so are causing some power line problems around the city, with at least one utility pole knocked down at New Hampshire Technical Institute, cutting out power to the eastern part of the city, around Loudon Road and Fort Eddy Road.

Concord Police are in the area directing traffic and alarms are being set off in different parts of the city, according to scanner chatter. 

A tree has also reportedly been knocked down on Carter Hill Road, by the orchard, blocking the road.
