The Concord Police Department is asking the public for their assistance in solving a theft of cash case.

On May 10, police took a report of a theft that occurred at Walmart located at 344 Loudon Road. The victim reported that she made a purchase at one of the self-checkout registers. She said that she used her debit card to pay for the purchase. As part of the transaction she requested $60 cash back from her debit card.

The victim said she became distracted during the transaction and forgot to take her $60. The victim then left the store with the items she purchased, mistakenly leaving the cash behind.

Approximately 20 to 30 minutes later the victim said she realized her error and returned to Walmart. Walmart confirmed that no one had turned in the cash. The victim provided a receipt which showed her purchases and her debit cash back transaction of $60. The time stamp on the transaction on the receipt was for May 10, at 2:39 p.m.

Video was obtained from Walmart which shows a male subject using the same register immediately following the victim. The video showed a white, middle aged male, wearing a green T-shirt remove money from the payment machine before he started his own transaction. He then scanned his items and used the victim’s money make his purchase.
